How much sushi do you need to feel full?

I'm shocked by the "big boy." Not only is that a ton of sushi, it is a ton of fat, cream, fried foods, etc.

Sorry but not sorry you are "shocked". There really isn't a ton of fat, cream, fried foods, etc.

Raw fish is very healthy - nothing unhealthy with my salmon hand rolls and salmon rolls. It is probably much healthier to eat raw than cooked with oil, butter, etc.

There is a little warm cream cheese in my sweet potatoe rolls. Yes, this is probably the most unhealthy roll I get as the potatoe is lightly crisped. I almost always get one, unless I'm feeling like a pig.

The California roll is also very healthy. Crab meat, rice, seaweed. Very healthy. Lovely.

The shrimps tempura. Sure the shrimps are fried but in reality, there are very little amounts of shrimps in each piece of that 6 piece beauty.

I should also mention that at my got-to sushi hang-out, Yoyogi Sushi, that platter only costs about $22. Great deal. MMMMMM

My usual order is:

1 (or 2) sweet potato tempura rolls with cream cheese
1 California Roll
1 Salmon Roll
2 (or 3) Salmon hand rolls
1 Shrimps tempura roll. Gotta luv them shrimps.

You have got to be kidding if you think this is a healthy meal. Yes, fish is healthy. That is a very small percentage of what you are eating.
3 rolls with fried food. 2 rolls with cream cheese. At least 3 cups of rice.
Sweet potato rolls - 280 each
California roll - 300
Salmon roll - 250
Salmon hand rolls - 200 each
shrimp tempura roll - 400

This rolls in at over 2000 calories!!! For one meal.

You say that, but there is a TON of sugar in all the sauces. So in fact there are a lot of empty calories.

I don't think you really have any clue what you are talking about. You are just adding rolls to my typical order in order to boost your hidden agenda.

I think you're confusing small sushi rolls with the maki-type large specialty rolls with cream cheese and all sorts of filling. (i.e. not really authentic sushi).

I think what the "big boy" listed are the teeny rolls. Something like this: http://www.sushiencyclopedia.com/how_to_make_sushi/how_to_make_sushi_rolls/how_to_make_thin_sushi_rolls.html

Clearly you've never been to Yoyogi Sushi. Each piece of their roll is easily twice the size of your "teeny" rolls. They are mongo and cheap.

I will eat two veggie rolls--cuke and avocado, plus seaweed salad. Or a cuke roll and an eel roll.

2. Usually a spicy tuna and a California roll. Plus some edamame.
Anonymous
I'd say two. My DH and I normally get 3 rolls and dumplings or just 4 rolls.

Usually, a california roll and some kind of veggie role. Sometimes I split an app. with DH, or get a small salad.

When DH and I go out for sushi our go to order is:

Mixed tempura app
Salad to share

3 small rolls (like fish + avo or cuc)
2 special rolls (like a rainbow roll, none of the cream cheese ones because I think they're gross but occasionally a shrimp tempura)

We always leave about one rolls worth of sushi because we're too full and we leave stuffed. We would cut one but the 3 small rolls come as a combo at our local sushi place.

When I go to Whole Foods, I usually get a pack with the small salmon and tuna rolls (seaweed, rice, fish) and another pack of either sashimi or chirashi. Only eat it with soy sauce and wasabi.
