I was thinking more about their claims medical professionals suggested a new home. If there wasn't violence or significant abuse, the only other reason I could think of is if she claimed to have thoughts of wanting to harm him. They can't claim he has threatened to kill one of their kids if he is barely verbal. Otherw2ise I suspect the professionals said you need to do more therapies or stop quitting therapies. |
This. She should return every penny. Wonder if she paid taxes on that money. |
Is this what she meant by rehoming, OMG I never knew about this business this is absolutely disgusting! They need to investigate where that boy is and if it is legal! Maybe that is why she was vauge and somewhere else it came up that he was in foster care, maybe they did it the illegeal way first "rehoming" and are now being investigated as to why put this all out there now? |

I think parents of children who are significantly impacted by their disability know their claims that medical professionals advised them to get rid of him to be false. I agree that more services would have been recommended, especially since he was not receiving the recommended amount of services and therapies in the first place. |
How do we know he wasn't receiving the recommended amount of services and therapies? |
Are you the adoptive parent of a child with a significant disability? I am and I have absolutely been advised to walk away, to "think of your own kids". Other parents I know have been encouraged to let their kids die. I've posted here about an issue with my disabled child, and have been told that I did a terrible thing by adopting him. |
I am a parent of a child who is significantly impacted by autism, plus have 3 other children, and would never abandon my children. I have never been advised by any of the many doctors and therapists my child sees regularly since he was an infant to "think of my own kids" or "let them die." I also would not continue bringing my child to see someone who would even suggest something like that, or associate with anyone who felt that way. |
Is your child adopted? I'm not justifying what these parents did. I am saying that the messages you get from professionals about a child that other people don't see as "really yours" are different from the messages that families get about birth children. I obviously don't agree with that, and I'm certainly not giving my child back, I'm just saying that if a parent tells me that they got that message, I'm not surprised. And if a parent is looking for an excuse to abandon their child, then those messages could easily become that excuse. I'll also say that most parents I know who have gotten the "let them die" message, have gotten it while their child is inpatient, which can make it very hard to just walk away. |
Except she was advised not to adopt him in the first place and did numerous videos about how she knew best and he was her "forever child" did you see the Reuters article about rehoming? https://www.reuters.com/investigates/adoption/#article/part1 |
OMG, I am not saying that she should have abandoned him. I am saying that if someone is wanting to get rid of their adopted child with disabilities, that it would be easy to find a professional who agrees with you. Do I think she should have run screaming from that professional? Yes, of course I do. |
We’re talking about the claim that medical professionals advised her to give the child away. If you have had professionals telling you in an official capacity that you should “walk away” from a child or let him die, you should really report them to their licensing boards. |
Yes, I have absolutely been told, by medical professionals, that I should stop the adoption process, or that I should return my child to the institution he was living in (yes, in the USA). I have not been told that I should let my child die, but I know parents who have been told that. I thought that was clear from my post, but I certainly know other parents of medically complex kids who have been given that message. And yes, I have filed complaints. |
100% this. Not ONE person on here knows her or her family or knows what huxleys drs and dentists and therapists told the family to do. NO ONE knows anything really besides a bunch of gossip at this point. It’s kind of sad that millions are talking this much sh*t when no one has a clue. |
Seriously, just shut up. Do you see what you are saying? To even put those words out there is gross. You don’t know what went on in that home and you don’t have any right to say what you just said. |
