I think parents of children who are significantly impacted by their disability know their claims that medical professionals advised them to get rid of him to be false. I agree that more services would have been recommended, especially since he was not receiving the recommended amount of services and therapies in the first place. [/quote]

Are you the adoptive parent of a child with a significant disability?  I am and I have absolutely been advised to walk away, to "think of your own kids". Other parents I know have been encouraged to let their kids die.

I am a parent of a child who is significantly impacted by autism, plus have 3 other children, and would never abandon my children. I have never been advised by any of the many doctors and therapists my child sees regularly since he was an infant to "think of my own kids" or "let them die." I also would not continue bringing my child to see someone who would even suggest something like that, or associate with anyone who felt that way. [/quote]
