How many of the 100 would want to go to Charlottesville? Or a number of other locations. What a stupid comment, but I see you’re full of them with every posting.

I could see 20 or 25 or so choosing UVA. Charlottesville is much nicer than the rust belt.

USC 69% vs UVA 31%

To be honest, Ann Arbor isn’t the playground for rich and famous celebrity lifestyle. LA is more suitable for that lifestyle.

I can say as a Michigan resident that this state sucks. We have fully funded 529s and are encouraging our two teens to get out of here after high school. D1 wants to go to Vanderbilt in Nashville, D2 wants to go somewhere in California, possibly Pepperdine in Malibu.

Choosing Pepperdine over Michigan is ridiculous.

Rich Californians buy their way into USC, hence the moniker, University of Spoiled Children.

Interestingly, the split is 58% Michigan to 42% UCLA, so there’s something else at play. Bc UCLA is better than USC.

Also, it’s 51% Cornell to 49% Michigan.

I just returned to DC after a visit to a child in college in LA.

The weather and lifestyle there are fabulous, even at tough schools.

Why would a Michigan resident be commentating on DCUM? That’s really weird.

Because my husband works in Washington and we lived in Bethesda for nearly ten years.

Agreed - my DC's two choices were UCLA and Michigan. DC loved Michigan as a university but the environment just couldn't compete with LA. UCLA and Westwood are gorgeous but I've also been on the USC campus and it is beautiful as well, and the immediate surrounding area is great too. There's just no comparison to lifestyle in LA. DC is probably never coming back east! And I'll probably head there too when I retire in a few years.

Are you nuts? Maybe at the grad level - at undergrad, it just a jumbo campus and with a big football team and rotten weather.

+1 . That's a bad choice.

The immediate surrounding area around USC is a sh*thole. Nobody in their right minds retires to California anymore, unless they are moving near family.
