Do you live in DC? Have you looked out your window today?

It is honestly hilarious to read all this weather whinging on this message board. Most 18-22 year olds are as priggish and wimpy about weather as are the persistent commenters here. The US benefits from having different climates and it's one of the distinct (and IMO best) aspects of this country's geography. Not everyone is dying to go to college or live in Florida, Arizona or California.

Wealthy kids like Sasha Obama and smart kids with strong stats can go to college anywhere they want. And it's not the 80s and 90s where we were all naive kids with no awareness of anything going on outside of our immediate region. Teens see University of Michigan college students on tiktok and instagram wearing parkas in a late April snow storm versus SEC sorority girls with tans in cute dresses for formal and USC kids with palm trees and Cali vibes.

Are you 17?

I have teen daughters, so we monitor their social media and their explore feeds are full of viral college kids. It doesn't take a genius to see the coastal, warm weather and big city college kids have much more alluring aesthetics than deindustrialized flyover country with spring blizzards.

I believe she told Jimmy Fallon it was because it was so cold. If memory serves, she dropped out in December or January.

Fan fiction.

USC will be a top 15 university in a couple of years.

Is there even verification that Sasha transferred to USC?

Nah. I think they have maxed out on the Chinese students whose money counts but SAT scores don't when it comes to US News rankings.

Nothing wrong with a large international student population.

Maybe she wanted graduation photos with lots of April snow in the background.

She got into Yale SCEA

She was originally headed to USC but then the admissions scandal broke in March 2019.

It’s been dropping in the rankings for the past few years. Next year it could be out of the top 30.

“Alluring aesthetics?” Can you even see downtown LA on a smoggy day?

One good shake along the San Andreas fault and she will be running back to mommy and daddy.

I live in south Florida where you can actually go into the water without a wet suit. 65 degree high in April? That’s way too cold!
