You could say the same about boys.

This girl would not be raped if we did not let boys in the school.

You can't blame a whole group of people for the actions of a few.

No, but it's silly to think that you can put a newly arrived 18 year old MAN (who has already broken the law) and who does not speak English into a school with 14 year old girls and think it's a good idea.

If you want to support illegal immigration, then figure out an alternative program for these boys. But the current system is NOT working. It is not racist to identify a problem and try to make things better.

Calm down. Unless your daughter is an aspiring member of MS-13 or hangs around with those type of gang members she has no chance of getting raped. The two picked a girl that they were familiar with and were fairly confident that she would not tell on them.

We pay THOUSANDS in taxes a year to send our kids to PUBLIC schools and THIS is what we get for our INVESTMENT?? And people WONDER why TRUMP won?? Are you kidding me??

Weak and a cop-out to me. It was thrown up today after this story started making national news.

I'm fine if they can't comment on the _specific_ case due to the ongoing investigation.. I understand that.. but surely they can say how they plan to address security at all MCPS schools..?

Meanwhile, Board of Ed member Ortman-Fouse has been busy tweeting all weekend about... everything else except this incident:

Can we pass term limits for BoE members too?

Also, this needs to be sent out as an email as other notices are sent out. They sent out a notice after the election. Send this out to all families also.

I am so glad to see so many people ready to roll up their sleeves and address this long standing issue of violence against our teen girls.

Are you f g kidding me? Your going to bring this women's issue shit into this? Hey, do you realize that our boys are being brutalized and violated by these illegals too? This isn't one of your little women's' rights agenda items, this is about safety in our communities. Go away with your political bs.

You don't care about rape?

I don't care about your women's issue platform you are trying to insert. This is about ALL of our children, not a select few, thank you.

The note says that they are working with the school community. Is there a meeting or a Town Hall scheduled anytime soon at the school? We are zoned for Rockville HS but still have young kids. Have not heard anything.

Nothing. If I ran MCPS, I'd be in crisis mode right now.. but it seems like they are not at all. This incident is going to make the news even more this coming week.

They are absolutely in crisis mode, it's called CYA. Their lawyers had to come up with some statement because I can assure you that the superintendent is monitoring this site and understands that the community is not going to stand down on this one. I think every parent should keep their kids out of MoCo schools tomorrow and that will make this go National on a big level. Also ICE can just clean house because only the illegals will show up.

Let this be a lesson, educate yourselves before voting next time. These people only care about their titles, otherwise we wouldn't be in this situation. Prayers for this young woman and her family. May they be strong.

You are disgusting. She was a girl. A human being. Like her destroyed life does not matter because she may or may not be Hispanic. No, I do not want my child attending a school where nothing is being done to ensure her safety, whether or not she is Hispanic. I don't even want her setting foot in a building like that. I don't want her to be constantly worried about being RAPED.

While in jail, I hope the tables turn and they are on the receiving end and then get deported. Here's a picture of one of them.

To the person who said "don't worry, your daughter doesn't hang out with MS-13 gang members, she'll be fine."

There has been no identification of the victim. How dare you suggest she hangs out with gang members, you don't know that. Perhaps she sat next to one of them in class and was friendly. You don't anything about the poor girl.

Ignore the np who made the above quoted comment. Clearly, there is some underlying guilt associated with their own belief system on this issue which is why the poster is acting out in such a vial way. Ignore them, it's best.

The superintendent's statement says they are working with community members and students to "review security measures." What does that mean? I'm the pp that mentioned the need for security assessments. MCPS, don't just do an amateur glance at your security and think you've got it covered. You need people with actual security expertise, or you're just whitewashing the problem. Our students deserve an actual, legitimate security plan.
