So much for this being an isolated incident...

A bit confused here. Does it mean that if another child comes forward his crime would be unpunished due to the plea agreement? HoW could it be?

Yep. That's exactly what it sounds like. God only knows how many other children he molested. He must have some pretty good lawyers who knew what to demand to minimize Pena's years in prison.

He seems to have a public defender

Why do you think that?

No, I don't think so.

Yes, he does have a public defender - Lee Goebes
He's will remain in jail (no bond) until the sentencing in Sept -
There are no additional victims -
The investigation will continue until sentencing to ensure there are no more victims -
The charge of "aggravating circumstances" has been dropped - most likely part of the plea deal
If something else comes up in the interim (like another victim), it will likely effect his sentencing -
You are right ... God only knows how many (if any) other victims there are, so please stop playing God and spreading information you do not know as fact.

What an ignorant statement. Do you really think victims would not "bother to come forward" because of this. If you knew your child was a victim, would you just "not bother" to come forward? How ridiculous. There have been many candid interviews, and as much as you really want to see a string of additional victims coming forward ... there are not any to date. That's a good thing, don't you think? Geez. Living and looking for drama much?

You have apparently never worked with rape victims. Perhaps you should have gone to the meeting with Dr. Julie Lopez. I understand she has.

Sorry, but a lot of folks on this thread seem to be salivating and hoping more children were involved so they can say "see, I knew it". You're gross. Let's all hope it's an isolated incident and no other children have been involved, period. I don't care what every other case in history has shown. This is not every other case in history. The reality is, there may be others, but to date there is no indication. Rather than hoping to see other victims, can you just be thankful that there are none at this point?

What is this obsession with Julie Lopez? She did one meeting which I assume was very poorly attended, and was organized by parents, not the school. Since that time, obsession about that session has been outrageous.

- Why won't anyone share what Julie said -
- Julie would disagree with you (however I don't know her and didn't go to her session ... but you should have -
- Please share what Julie said -
- Parents are keeping that information to themselves - shame on them
- and on , and on, and on ....

Please tell me, what is this obsession with Julie Lopez? She would most likely be horrified that you keep dragging her into this constantly.

NP here. You are the ignorant one. Survivors of child sexual abuse have an extremely hard time coming forward when there ARE consequences to the perpetrator for doing so. When there are not, then there is even less reason to bring up the extreme trauma and shame in a public way.

GP was teaching in Barcelona for the full school year prior to the first time incident in August 2015. He returns from teaching in Europe and boom, he starts touching a student IN CLASS. I think it is highly likely that it was NOT the first time.

Just because there are no OA students coming forward doesn't mean he didn't abuse prior years.

I hope they are investigating at the school in Barcelona. Wonder what their response was and how they're handling it.

The date above should read August 2013.

Or they haven't come forward because they don't exist. Look, I hope they don't exist, but people continue to try to convince everyone they do exist. If more victims come forward, that will be devastating ... but until they do, please live in reality. Can you even consider the possibility that there is not a string of victims? It's as if you want to see a list produced while you enjoy your popcorn on the sideline. Yuck.

This might be the same poster and an OA parent who has been very vocal about this and other issues with the new principal.
