This Is Us. Season 3

No idea it resumed! Thank you!

I found this episode so preachy. Are they trying to dig too deep? If you predicted that the soap opera alum would become the best actor and character on yap this show, no one would believe you. Both Kevin and Justin Hartley are winning.

I wish Randall had lost the election. I hated that storyline as it is so unrealistic.

I know we're not supposed to get sucked into the quicksand of time and place specificity on this thread, but DS and I couldn't stop laughing at the church morning. Yeah, like Randall could sleep in, have a serious discussion with his wife, get the girls up, get everyone showered and ready, and DRIVE TO PHILLY (2 hours away, as we've heard Randall's opponent say frequently throughout the campaign) before church service. One can only assume that the candidates attended the primary church service of the day, which was likely 10 am, at the latest. That means Randall, who was in Philly late the night before, got to sleep in to the ripe old time of, what, 6 am??

+1. I can't imagine anyone voting for a city council rep who doesn't live in the district, let alone 2 hours away. Such a stupid story line.

+2 I love Randall, but hate this storyline. So what are they going to do now - all move to the poor area of Philly and send their kids to school there?

Was the election in January? Wtf. So weird.

+3 This plus the Nicky storyline are dumb. Also tired of the Rebecca and Jack flashbacks. Hard to see where this show can go at this point.

Agree. And in January? I don’t get it.

I do love Zoe. I love her and Kevin’s storyline the best. It’s the only one that seems real and not over-the-top.

And can we please get more Miguel? I want his flashbacks to childhood, to his relationship with Rebecca, and his current life with his bratty adult children.

I thought the same!

Yes! And is there only one black church in the whole district? Why do both candidates go only to that church? And giving such an explicitly political speech from the pulpit is a great way to lose your tax-exempt status.

His winning has pretty much ruined the show for me.

This happens ALL the time, on both sides of the aisle.

So preachy!
And yes, Kevin the character and Justin the actor have come a long way. Kevin and Zoe are the most interesting

I’m glad that Beth and Randall made up, but the heavy lifting still fell on her. Is Kate showing growth but supporting Toby? I liked that Kevin didn’t act like a selfish asshat when Zoe told him why she has a hard time living with someone. He would have either joked or brushed it off before.

I don’t get where the Nicky story is going at all.

I’m hoping for the Beth background deep dive soon. Phylica Rashad!

Re: Felicia Rashad, wasnt there already an episode with another actress as her mom, where she was kinda bossy? (Or am I getting confused with another show...)
