Can you use the Fever of 38.5 c. /. 101.3 to diagnose coronavirus COVID19?

These numbers for temperatures just indicate a "high fever" versus a "low grade fever" of more like 100.5 degrees F.

Many things can cause a high fever. A viral infection, a bacterial infection, heat exhaustion, a malignant tumor. Doctors cannot use "high fever" alone to make a diagnosis of anything. It needs to be seen along with other signs and symptoms.

How can the definition of a fever be so exact? I run cold. If I'm at 99oF, I'm probably sick.

The alleged "zero patient" never had the virus

The alleged ' zero patient ', the friend of the 38-year-old from Codogno who had dined with him after returning from China, never had the coronavirus . Deputy Minister of Health Pierpaolo Sileri told reporters. "The tests carried out - he said - showed that he did not develop the antibodies". The man had already tested negative for the first coronavirus test. Therefore, the spread of the virus in the Lodi area did not start with him.

So the 38-year old didn't get the virus from a man who had traveled to China.

So now we have our own example..NIMBY in Califofnia. Out of all places.. California would object? Why?

Federal judge blocks effort to transfer coronavirus patients to California city.

federal court blocked efforts Friday night to transfer dozens of patients who tested positive for the coronavirus from Travis Air Force Base in Northern California to an empty building in Southern California.

U.S. District Judge Josephine Staton granted a temporary restraining order after the city of Costa Mesa filed a request for an injunction earlier in the day. Named as defendants were the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the California Department of General Services.

An expedited hearing is scheduled Monday in Santa Ana, California.

City officials said they were made aware of plans Thursday evening by regional representatives from state and local health agencies to transfer 30 to 50 patients to a building there. The patients would have arrived as early as Sunday, according to the court filing.

Our top priority is the safety and security of this community and those who live in this region,” Costa Mesa Mayor Katrina Foley said in a statement. “We have received no information regarding how the facility will be prepared, what precautions will be taken to protect those in the facility as well as those who live nearby, and other important planning measures.”

If the epidemic spreads and places will start blocking efforts in courts then we are all done. One would think that in pandemic, government agencies have rights to impose certain actions like taking over facility to house sick as needed?

Re: Costa Mesa.

Sounds like NIMBYs. Median home price is $825,000.

IMO they are being short sighted. It is a benefit to have experienced doctors and nurses in their town who know how to treat patients with severe symptoms of coronavirus.

The virus is here anyhow now. There will be treatments. Better to have people learn how to keep things under control.

This is the state of California trying to figure out where to put people who test positive for the virus, but aren't sick enough for a hospital. I hope there are people all over the country this weekend trying to figure issues like this out, because it's eventually going to be an issue everywhere.

Are you familiar with the National Pandemic Plan? People have been preparing for this for quite some time. Of course, they were preparing for pandemic flu, not coronavirus, but the principles are the same.

Based on the views and comments, this thread seems to be getting plenty of exposure. And I don’t know why “local” politics would make sense.
