Navy ES Principal Arrested

Anonymous
FCPS has advertised the principal job so they are definitely moving forward and this officially signals a change in new direction.

The public will not see the posting. Principals see it as a lateral transfer. Then it’s posted for those accepted in the principal pool.

We can see it. Maybe Coch can reapply

Because he didn’t, they couldn’t release him from his contract legally until June. And they couldn’t list the position until his contract expired. Stop blaming Reid and others for Coch’s actions which caused this mess in the first place. It’s mind boggling how so many people thought he could come back after this.

This. I am shocked that people would him back after this. I don't want my kids thinking it's okay if you drink and drive and damage someone's property (and could have damaged a person if there had been one there) and there are no consequences. It's pretty sick that so many of you think that's an okay lesson to teach your kids.

+1 why is the Navy community (staff and parents) so damn scared of having a new principal? Is it because some of them had an “in” with Coch and got preferential treatment, and are now afraid they won’t have that with the new principal? Maybe the new principal will be even better! And we will all be on equal footing now at least.

Scared because Navy ranking is so high.

Do not want to loose winning formula, though only 4% FARMs help many.

The combination of AAP center + 4% FARMS means that Navy's great school ratings will remain high no matter what. The principal has ZERO to do with that.

+100

Spring Hill had four principals in the space of five years and they were all dumpster fires.

The Great Schools rating actually went up.

See this is why people want Coch back. He is a known quantity.

I’m excited to get someone new and possibly get the bad teachers out!

There are no truly "bad" teachers at navy. There are a few that are less interactive than others but no terrible ones.

That’s your opinion. We have experienced some really bad teachers.

Which ones? Would like to avoid bad teachers.

I will not name names on this board because I don’t think that’s fair, but there are a few that have been bad. Bad could include: poor communication, poor overall teaching, poor grading. I am excited about a new principal because usually teachers step up their game to impress them.

There are some that are not great but it's possible those will be the ones to leave. However none are truly "bad". If you think that then you are very privileged to have never had a actual bad teacher.

Completely disagree with you. You have no idea what my child’s experience was and don’t know enough to say it was not bad. How dare you.

You seem really worked up. You should just come out and say what this experience is if you want any sympathy. If anything, the majority of the teachers are super patient given the some of the kids they have had to deal with. If I'm annoyed at anyone, it's at some of these parents that send their crappy kids to school that have serious behavioral issues and expect the teachers to deal with it and the rest of the kids to just accept and ignore it.

It's super weird how "fangirl" some Navy moms are. Your school is not the best school. It's okay to admit that it has flaws.

Dr. Reid made it very clear she won’t have an acting principal on probation. Bravo.

Yes keep it a secret... then the poor teacher who accepts the crappy job will learn the hard way they don't want to be at your school.

And teachers there have experienced some really bad parents.

I only see 3 on the list now. Doesn’t seem that dire.

FCPS often puts one announcement out and it could be for 2 or 3 vacancies. Then the teacher gets told in the interview we have these 3 grade levels open....trust me on this one.

Oh but there’s no such thing as a truly “bad” parent. Just like there’s no such thing as a bad teacher? Not at Navy!

Some of the AAP parents give Navy parents a bad name. I swear there are plenty of us in the dreaded PBL who mostly leave the teachers alone, volunteer when we can, and make sure our kids aren’t the ones making their teachers’ jobs harder.
