Navy ES Principal Arrested

I hope the new principal can bridge the gap between PBL and AAP. Maybe we can even drop the silly PBL!

Oh yes. I’m embarrassed for the school community. Who thought it was a good idea to make up some fake “classification” so families whose kids are not in AAP would feel better? Was this Coch’s idea?

Project Based Learning (PBL) should be happening across all classrooms in all schools. It’s not a designation.

I think there is some story behind it. Pre-AAP at Navy, back when they had GT and sent kids to Hunter's Woods, they had gen Ed and a pilot PBL program. They sent teachers to some pbl training, somewhere I forget where, and when they came back they piloted a PBL class. Eventually everything became pbl and they added the AAP and that is how the pbl stuck. That is my understanding.

I’ve noticed the Coch supporters have suddenly disappeared from this thread.

+1 it’ll be interesting to see them sucking up to the new principal in the fall.

If he is going to be working in another position, I don’t understand why Reid would want ANYONE working while on probation, no matter the job.

She doesn’t. But definitely not a principal.

No, we are here. Just watching you all get spun up and excited. Also, great to see all of you speak up at the meeting with Reid…. oh wait, most of you didn’t. Easier to be a coward posting anonymously on DCUM. Nice!

Sounds like they didn't need to speak up, PP. They got what they wanted, which sounds like it was best for the children involved.

+1 We didn’t need to speak up because we knew what was going to happen. There was never a snowball’s chance in hell Coch was going to come back after his DUI. Most of the Navy community was delusional in thinking it would happen. The ones with common sense are silently happy.

I heard that some of the people who spoke up at the meeting were over the top. It's pretty cringe to publicly go that hard for someone who drove into a house. Even if you really like the guy and consider him a friend. Just saying.

Speaking of cringe, how about the parent who asked everyone to write letters on Coch’s behalf to get his sentence reduced?
