So those of us who paid for our college loans, and didn’t get any loan forgiveness, should pay tax so others can get their loans forgiven
|
DP. I paid off my college loans and no I'm not paying tax to forgive other loans. Your choice, your responsibility. |
| They should not give student loan forgiveness. Everyone should get a flat $10,000 toward debt. What about those with other types of debt? |
What about people with no debt? Why shouldn't they get free money too? Helicopter money for everyone, we will all be rich! |
|
Hope Not
However, because Build Back Better would raise the $10,000 cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction, it would cut taxes for the majority of very wealthy families as well. According to TPC, two-thirds of households making over $1 million per year would receive a tax cut under the Build Back Better Act. More than three-quarters of households earning between $500,000 and $1 million would also receive a tax cut, as would two-thirds of those earning between $200,000 and $500,000. way to go Democrats! |
Any moment now Senators Warren and Sanders are going to come out in firm opposition to this handout to the rich at the expense of those most vulnerable... waiting... waiting... waiting... Senator Warren? I saw your on twitter trying to troll Elon Musk, something is happening in the Capital that requires your attention. Senator Sanders? Hello? Is this thing on? |
| Tax cuts should be viewed not in raw comparative terms but rather in relative terms. In areas where progressives dominate, where wealth is produced, the people should be rewarded with greater tax breaks than in those areas where reactionaries dominate. While the raw numbers are vastly different, in relative terms the two are probably equal. Let’s not forget too that wealthier, better educated progressive areas are subsidizing the Republicans-dominated Midwest and South, areas that are lower educated and poorer and net takers, not producers. |

Sorry Marsha but that's not even a meme.... But while you're whining about how America's supposedly being destroyed by having to pay an extra $0.20 a pound for chicken, consider that in just 4 years, Trump added $23,424 in new debt for every American man, woman and child. What do you have to show for that? |
I can tell you what we DIDN'T have to show for it - 6.8% inflation. And btw U.S. producer prices haven't risen a mere .20c. Try 20%!! Citation - Bureau of Labor Statistics / Financial Times Surging US producer prices add to pressure on Fed to accelerate taper https://www.ft.com/content/99c75c70-20e9-49d7-b8f0-c1149e18e23b

Yet that inflation doesn't even remotely add up to the nearly $100k in new debt added by Trump for an average family of four - what did that family get in exchange for all that debt? The tax cuts were pretty much it and even they got nowhere even remotely near there for the overwhelming majority of American families. |
I'm so glad they nipped this in the bud. I literally saw a SAHM today asking if she was going to get PAID (like on retainer) out of the childcare subsidy like the daycares would if they chose to keep their kid at home. The entitlement was off the charts. |
