Adult Kate? What I noticed was that she has great legs! Who knew? She always wears long dressed when I see her photographed.

Yes, adult Kate. And agree about the legs!

It was Madison.

I couldn't tell but Madison was in California. She walked Audio.

Where was Kevin during that week? He flew to Pittsburgh to attend his ex-MIL's funeral. Did he fly back to California? Or is he still in Pittsburgh which would mean it's Sophie?

Kevin runs into Madison at Kate's apartment when Madison is there to walk the dog. The next scene is Kevin in bed with a blond. Of course, it's Madison. Sophie is in Pittsburgh.

I loved the mother/daughter bonding. It made me so sad knowing that they were finally at a good place and yet Rebecca's time is limited.

I think Kate is being a little harsh with Toby. He's entitled to his feelings too, and I imagine the reality of having a special needs baby is something that everyone handles differently. It's awesome to see Kate find her strength but Toby isn't there yet. Given his history of depression, it's not surprising either. She overreacted when he said he "wanted" to be that kind of husband and father, which seemed like an honest answer to me. And when he was excited about Jack seeing the lights and did a bunch of research, she was all over him about being realistic. He was pleading with her to let him have a little bit of hope for one night, and that wasn't ok with her. It just seems like she's trying to control everything as it relates to him.

Wow. I had the opposite reaction to Tobys research. He is trying to “fix” Jack instead of except that he is blind. It was pure selfish motivation on his part. I think that is why Kate is upset. Sure, Toby gets to feel a loss, but he needs to step up and learn how to beat parent a blind child. Toby sees a broken child, Kate sees a wonderful child.

But I do wonder if Kate is less tolerant of Toby’s reaction because of the neighbor.

I'm like you. Toby wants to fix Jack to be the son that he always dreamed of having. It's purely selfish.

I think the Marc-Kate relationships will last a while. I think they're setting up to be something that had a huge impact on Kate's life, and a 3 month relationship wouldn't have done that.

My guess is her family goes to "rescue" her at the cabin, she and Marc have made up, she pushes her family away. At some point months/years later Marc threatens suicide if Kate doesn't do what he want, she doesn't do it, and he goes through with the suicide. This is why Kate cannot stand up for what she wants/needs/deserves in a relationship.

Good guess!

As a parent of a disabled 7 year old, the strain that Jack’s blindness is causing in Toby & Kate’s marriage is spot on. It is very common for parents to view and respond differently to a child who doesn’t have a ‘typical’ path. It is tough to watch, but the writers are doing an excellent job with this.

I like Toby and get where he's coming from, but I get where Kate is coming from too. And I think crossing the crossroads now is good for all.

I really liked a break from adult Kevin in this episode.

Kate's teen relationship is hard to watch.

I have heavily disliked both Kate and Rebecca, but the last episode deeply touched me.

Of course a 3 month relationship (or far less) could impact a person for the rest of their life- especially if it is intense as what is portrayed with Kate and the abusive boyfriend.

IT WAS MADISON. Did you watch the episode prior to this one? After the funeral in Pittsburgh, Kevin flies back to LA. He shows up to visit Kate, but Kate has already left for the retreat and Toby is at work. Madison answers the door to their apartment because she was dog sitting for them. He stays to visit with Madison and they wind up sleeping together, I believe at her place. IT WAS MADISON. KEVIN DID NOT SLEEP WITH SOPHIE.

+1
The previews show him locking her out of the cabin - after dumping her on the side of the road. My guess is Rebecca and the boys show up, take a piece out of Mark (either literally or figuratively) and bring Kate back home. Pretty sure that will be the end of their relationship. I can’t stand Mark.

I’m going to get flamed here, but I have to say this. A part of me was hoping that Rebecca was going to sit Kate down and tell her she has to have gastric bypass surgery. I mean, come on. She has a child to take care of and she was even admitting she didn’t know if she’d be able to teach Jack to ride a bike, swim, etc. Not to mention the health issues that go along with carrying that much weight. It’s time for her to take care of herself, and she’s beyond losing weight through diet and exercise alone. I think it would have been a loving thing for Rebecca to level with her rather than constantly dancing around the subject.

I welcome all the adult Kevin I can get...but it looks like Justin Hartley directed this episode.

Well, at least we know that baby Jack grows up to be a (seemingly happy) big-time rock star!

If Kate is anything like my adult daughter (who is at least 100 pounds overweight), however Rebecca said it would NOT have been perceived as loving, but critical.
