Ask him why he would choose to demonize the immigrants who come to our border instead of talking about the real reasons they come...desperation to flee countries where gang violence and murder rates are outrageous and poverty is rampant.

The crisis at the border is multi-faceted and requires practical solutions. Try listening to what people who actually work for ICE and live and work in border towns are saying instead of right-wing propaganda.

We've BEEN listening to people who actually work for ICE - have you?? No, you haven't. You've been completely dismissing what they're telling us because *you don't want to hear it*. For whatever reason, you're ok with vast numbers of illegal immigrants being released into our country. Here's an interview with ICE special agent in charge of investigations for the El Paso sector. Read it and educate yourself.

STATON: Resources for all of the United States government that do immigration enforcement are being pulled for what's happening on the southwest border right now. The numbers are so high of individuals crossing that the assets that would usually do interdiction of alien smuggling, narcotics smuggling, etc., are being pulled away to handle the processing and the care of these individuals that are turning themselves in at the border.
STATON: Some are using social media, yes. And then - anybody can use social media. And if you look at it, you can see that, like you just said - well, you know, Immigration Customs Enforcement is releasing individuals; I saw it on different news channels. They're talking about that on a regular basis. So that is also a pull factor. Individuals know - hey, there's a chance I could be released.
STATON: What I can tell you I can see is I see an increase. I have concerns. And it's not just me; it's me and all my colleagues. We all have concerns on what's going on down here. And if you don't think the border has had a massive increase of individuals coming over and that there's a cause and effect to that, go down and look at the border.

Like it or not, family-based immigration is legal and open only to those who immigrate legally. So is the diversity lottery. And you want to end these legal programs just because ? So yes, you are ignorant and doubling down on your ignorance. The idiot is still you. Why act surprised?

No one said family/chain-based migration is illegal. They said it needs to stop, in favor of MERIT-based immigration. Are you really this obtuse?

That is different from the debate on illegal immigration. Family immigration is allowed by law and only open to legal residents. I'm not sure why Trump supporters want to link this to those arriving illegally, unless they just want to end all immigration.
