ICE is merely enforcing laws passed by Congress and signed by our elected presidents

The actual story:

🚨 LIBS' ICE HOAX CRUMBLES: Yamhill County, OR — Libs SCREAM "Hitler-style abduction" of a 17-yo U.S. citizen high schooler during lunch. TRUTH? Christian Jimenez was ARRESTED OFF-CAMPUS for OBSTRUCTING ICE agents & FOLLOWING their vehicle — while driving his DAD'S car (who's an illegal facing deportation). Video shows him REFUSING to comply or show ID, yelling "I'm a citizen!" — cops: "Get out, I don't care" (meaning verify first, kid!). Window smashed? Likely after non-compliance. Detained briefly, released to TWO U.S. citizen family members on the same day. The school confirms: No agents on the property. Sanctuary whiners PANIC over Trump's deport surge — meanwhile, 4 U.S. citizens detained county-wide this week for interfering with REAL arrests. PROTECTING criminals over citizens? OVER — ICE is COMING!

You’re insane. The school has open lunch and he was driving home. Saying “I’m a US citizen” is not resisting arrest.

That’s sick that you’re fine with our tax dollars being spent to terrorize American teenagers.

Do better this Thanksgiving!

How is it MAGA people (I'm including those who claim not to be but support MAGA policies and actions) start believing absolutely in what the government says?

Not just with ICE protests, there have been many, many times when people objecting to, recording, or closely following or monitoring law enforcement (at every level but probably less so with federal agents, who used to be trained) without actually obstructing law enforcement have been arrested, or even if simply asking an officer if they are being detained (and the officer refuses to say) suddenly find themselves charged with resisting arrest when there is no underlying offense charged. There is also a matter (not saying it was the case here) of civil disobedience and appropriate response: even when civil disobedience results in legitimate arrest, that does not necessary require officer violence.

It never hurts to consider the possibility, especially when there is political motivation for law enforcement to lie. It's also fair to consider the same possibility for critics of law enforcement, but law enforcement lies are far more egregious because they embody the force of the state.

There is clear evidence of ICE agents staging and video recording what appear to be riots when they are not. There is clear evidence that the government has repeatedly lied--to the extreme--when characterizing detainees as violent criminals, gang members, foreign terrorists. They have also done so repeatedly with particular arrests that have made headlines. There is a reason why several federal judges--who would in most cases tend to defer to the government when government actions are contested--have stepped up their demands for federal lawyers to back up their own claims with proof.

So, are you saying that a MAGA government--and only a MAGA government--is absolutely reliable and trustworthy?

Sorry, I meant that for the previous PP and could have sworn I grabbed the right post.

“Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem directed that hundreds of Venezuelan men who were removed from the U.S. in March be transferred to El Salvador, despite a federal judge ordering deportation planes turned around, according to a new court filing from Trump administration lawyers.

In the filing late Tuesday, the Department of Justice said that DOJ and DHS officials conveyed their legal advice to Noem after U.S. District Judge James Boasberg gave first an oral directive and then a written order that sought to block the deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.”

It’s outrageous that the media is unable to focus on this story. The Trump administration is lawless and the media is all mealy mouthed stories describing Trump’s actions as “unprecedented” and “facing obstacles.”

Yeah, I've always hated their use of "without evidence" or "falsely stated" when the correct word is LIED.

The framing of this story by the NYT is ridiculous. The illegal is not a victim - he has left multiple victims in his wake.

They seem to believe that since this illegal was working, he should be allowed to remain in the US. Absurd. His actions have caused years of trauma and tens of thousands of dollars to the actual Dan Kluver.

The media is so keen on presenting illegal aliens as sympathetic victims. They aren't. Deport them all.

Wow. That NYT piece sums up why so many legal immigrants are against illegal Immigration. You do everything right to immigrate and are then lumped together with a POS who made so many other people’s lives hell.

Then the NYT writes a story with this take: "Romeo Pérez-Bravo, 42, a Guatemalan immigrant who had spent most of his adult life working under borrowed identities."

When you borrow something you ask permission. This man STOLE another’s man’s identity which caused him years of heart ache and thousands of dollars.

Stealing identities to work us not a victimless crime.

Here is what ICE considers "obstructing"--threatening to arrest a St. Paul woman in her own backyard when she insists on them showing a warrant (to which they say "absolutely not" before threatening to arrest). There was at least one person (recording) standing up for her.

Any migrant here who has overstayed his/her visa, who entered illegally, who was granted TPS by the Biden administration (temporary is over), who was brought in by Biden by (illegal) mass parole, and who does not have the requisite papers to remain in the US. I don't care how long they have been here.
Time to start enforcing our laws.

Yep.
And, this is also why trust in the NYT is at an all time low.
Incredible framing of such a horrific story.

https://projects.propublica.org/trump-ice-smashed-windows-deportation-arrests/

Earlier this year, we documented nearly 50 incidents of immigration officers shattering car windows to make arrests — a tactic experts say was rarely used before Trump took office.

ICE claims its officers use a “minimum amount of force.”

You can judge for yourself.

Because they are deporting people without due process and in some instances, paying foreign governments to imprison them.

Most of us will never believe an ICE "obstructing arrest" charge when we have seen it contradicted on video and thrown out in court time after time. SOme day it might be real and no one will believe it and ICE is a 100% responsible for the Boy Who Cried Wolf Effect. There is no trust.

Police officers do this as well. If you repeatedly disobey a lawful order to exit your vehicle you will be forcibly removed.
