This is the truest thing on this thread. |
Cannon fodder without the ability to enter the officer’s corps despite extreme hand-holding and forcing an art history prof to pass him to graduate high school does not suggest much in the way of a career for Harry. Meghan should be able to create the illusion of a waistline if she’s so great at fashion. And yet. |
She ain't joking. Why is she even using this royal speak when they fled the institution and wanted nothing to do with it? She's a deranged con woman who ruined Harry's life. This show is low and pathetic. This is hardly a step up from Bravo reality TV. |
In that curtsy scene she was mocking his grandmother and his family history. It was inappropriate and insensitive to him. In addition to the new show feeling fake and forced, it's boring. And that's why it's probably not going to do very well. |
But don't forget she also tied a hand written tag on the plastic bag to identify the contents! |
This is a perfect example of personal attacks. It’s fine to think the show is bad but randomly bringing up perceived flaws with her body is strange. She has a good enough figure she was able to bag a prince at 35. Sorry you’re stuck out in, what, Springfield or Fredericksburg? with a schlub who couldn’t even partner track at a V30. Do you see how dumb baseless personal attacks sound. |
Neither of them should be famous. One was born into it and one social clawed and climbed into it. Unfortunately once famous, they feel the need to act famous and to get attention and they seem to falsely believe they have something to offer the world at large. It is unfortunate but it is what it is. It is good for entertainment at least. When the world is falling apart, you can watch the Kardashians or the Baldwinito's or the Markle-Mountbatten-Windsor-Sussexes and forget about the real drama. |
What is wrong with that, it’s real. She was giving it to her guest because she knows he liked them. Why don’t you go make some peanut butter pretzels from scratch. Different perceptions, I viewed it as a nice touch and wanted to know the brand. |
You haven't seen the British media have you? Here is a good list: https://www.vox.com/first-person/2020/1/17/21070351/meghan-markle-prince-harry-leaving-royal-family-uk-racism Assuming you won't read that, there was a headline she was straight outta Compton. A BBC reporter tweeted a picture of a chimpanzee saying it was their son story. A story that the avocado toast she liked was fueling murder and drought. A story that used "niggling" in the headline, how is that not a dog whistle? She got 2x as many negatives headlines as Kate. How is that not racist? |
PP here. Fair point, I should not have said "good mom." I should've said "hands on mom." I think she is actually "walking the walk" - making her kids dinner, making their school lunches, doing hands on activities with them, etc. (Contrast to Kim or Kourtney Kardashian, whose kids seem 100% raised by nannies). (I'm a mom of four. I will note that she's not sharing anything groundbreaking. But she talks about stuff that I think you learn by being around your kids, and you wouldn't know if your kids were solely raised by nannies). However, I shouldn't have said "good mom." You could argue she's actually a terrible mom for, along with her husband, cutting their kids off from their extended family and ruining the kids' chance to serve as royalty. Or, you could argue she's a great mom for protecting her kids from that toxicity. |
Well, he used to fly a helicopter. Maybe they can buy one and he can do charity flights, like transporting cancer patients to their appointments out of state. |
The British media is BRUTAL in general. They just pick your weak spot and exploit it. The racism was inexcusable, but so was the fat shaming of fergie, the cruelty of exposing Charles infidelity, and the "waity katie" bit for kate. It's arrogant, myopic, and selfish for MM to portray the media as specifically cruel to HER. They are cruel to everyone. I think they were essentially asked to leave and she had to make an excuse as to why. |
She dresses herself like a Lady SpongeBob— she cannot style herself. She lacks the skill, and has never designed clothes or accessories either. If another poster insists that good styling is her thing, based on her look, it’s absolutely fair to note that Meghan lacks any eye for styling and that her waistlessness shows that. It’s about the skill deficit not her body. No one is making that argument about Ina Garten, who is older, heavier, and who also sprinkled in hostessing tips between cooking demos. |
I don't think most criticism of her is because of her race anymore than criticism of the Tate brothers is because of their race.
Sometimes you just disagree or don't like people or their public image or their persona or their programs. |
It most certainly did. People threw an absolute fit when they didn't want to share what hospital the first baby was born and didn't take pictures on the steps the day after she gave birth. They literally had trespassers invade their home, after receiving death threats from the far-right so serious that the police commented on it. And because you're going to say that never happened: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-63804711 |
