With Love, Meghan on Netflix

The cons: she comes off as fake, not just because it is not her house, but she isn't a natural in the kitchen, isn't doing anything exciting entertaining wise, the interactions with her guest are sometimes awkward (with Roy Choi) and sometimes just fake (Mindy Kaling and the last name) and sometimes cringe (the fractured dish making it more beautiful, just like fractured person meghan). She also has a "spot at the table" for everyone... aside from her nuclear family/husband's nuclear family, her former best friends that she ditched, or anyone else who is not famous.

The bigger issue with this type of show is that it is sort of tone deaf to the current economic and political situation going on. It is clear this is an attempt to make their financial situation grow (when they are already rich AF), rather than coming from what she loves to do; she isn't an Ina or a Martha or a Gwenyth, and that comes through.

I don't think most people will spend $$$ on overpriced jams as the federal workforce and adjacent lose their jobs, we abandon Ukraine and other allies, and the economy tanks.

I think the issue is her jams are for some MC American women who are not very good in the kitchen and who don't care about provenance or quality. People who can afford her jam know there are much better jams out there and that celebrity products are often inferior with a mark up.

Not a fan of her at all but I will say she is one determined person to just keep going in the face of so much negativity. I will give her that.

You do know that most cooking show hosts do NOT use their own kitchens right? Some do of course but many do not. Honestly I love to cook and if I had a show I would not want to use my house. My lord having to keep it in immaculate condition all the time, the dogs, my kids... Nope. I'd find me a rental for sure!

Meghan and Harry are not cleaning the kitchen, they have staff, and the show films at set times/days...

How much cooking do we think she actually does?

There is nothing interesting or particularly original about any of her ideas. Which are on the precious and silly side, anyway.

So nice that she is able to be creative again (she said she has creativity back) after everything she went through. It’s hard work being given a duchess title and then going on Oprah to trash your in laws, calling them racist and resurfacing the “waity katy” insult.

I think everyone forgets that when Gwyneth launched GOOP, it was laughed at/hated, and it took her years and years of trial and error before she found her groove/success in the wellness space. I remember her whole GOOP staff turned over at one point. I think Meghan has good instincts, and her pre-Harry Tig brand was cool, so I'm willing to follow along and see how her new brand evolves.

I completely agree with you. She is in this for longish game. She doesn't need to make money right now, she'll make her money when she sells the brand (like Gwyneth did).

Gwyneth was always very successful though. Yes, people mocked her brand, but she surrounded herself with smart and competent people. She was also extremely respected as an actress. This to me is more like Blake Lively's Preserve.

She is so pretty but just is not charismatic at all, IMO. Comes off as fake. She just is not good at this.

Somewhat watched the first episode- extremely boring.

She’d be better off going back to acting.

Probably like a lot of celebs who seem to enjoy it (David Beckham, Christy Teigen, Jrn Garner, etc.) They're not worried about getting three squares on the table and have chefs, but they do bust out the cookie sheet when they feel like it. At least, as someone who likes to cook this is what I'd do. I'd still cook but in a no pressure environment.

It is the narcissism. She thinks she is great, she only sees things from her perspective...and everyone with a different perspective just misunderstands her or is out to get her.
