Disgusting because you don’t like gay people or...?

Or it’s such a desperate attempt to drum up interest. Why the hell would someone want blood in their shoes. It’s like when Angelina and Billy Bob wore those vials of blood. It’s not cute. Just gross.

The topic is about the music video which was receiving backlash before the announcement of the shoes even launched.

Why do you think the music video was released before the shoes that features a Bible verse and blood were released. The controversy is the video and the shoes.

They sold out in under a minute so clearly people are interested. There’s nothing desperate about what he’s doing, it’s wildly successful.

It’s pretty clear you have no idea about limited editions, sneaker heads, bots, reselling, or the controversy regarding a Nike execs son.

I mean...what does that have to do with the fact that PP is right?

Only 666 Satan shoes were commissioned. Lil Nas X's retailer sold them for $1,018/each.

That's $677,988 grossed in one day. The original version of those shoes are sold for $197/each on the Nike site. Let's assume the Lil Nas X retailer paid full price for each pair (doubtful) - that's a cost of $131,202 for 666 pairs.

Now let's assume Nas paid the retailer $50,000 to modify all 666 shoes, add the blood, and host the purchase site.

$677,988 - $131,202 - $50,000 is still a net profit of $496,786.

So so what if a bunch of resellers snatched them up? He still got his $490K.

And getting evangelicals fired up worked awesomely as a marketing ploy. Shoes sold out in record time.

Now that Trump has shown how vunerable they are to any sort of manipulative messaging, and how fast they will spread it, lots of people are going to start to take advantage.

Saw an article that says Nike is suing the company that put the blood in the shoes.

Didn’t this same company also put holy water in a Nike shoe? They gonna get sued for that also? What about businesses that custom design Nike shoes and resell them..Nike going to sue them also?

The question wasn’t about his money. Although, now with a lawsuit coming who knows. Him selling out in a minute doesn’t mean people are actually interested. It means sneaker heads like exclusive shoes. It means bots buy shoes in mass with the hope to resell at a higher amount (which Nas wouldn’t see the profit) to sneaker heads and other idiots who are willing to overpay for shoes.

Ask Nike. The article I saw only mentioned this particular lawsuit.

He sold out in under a minute and collected $500K. I doubt he cares what profit the sneakerheads make on TOP of that. He's not responsible for storage or hosting anymore.

Better flip than a house.

Nike isn’t suing Lil Nas X, they are suing the company which he does not own

Nike should pay more attention when they sell their licenses from now on. Not sure they will win this suit.

I think it's moving, what he has done. I think the kids will ultimately save us all. Did you see what he said about his video?

"i spent my entire teenage years hating myself because of the sh** y'all preached would happen to me because I was gay. So i hope u are mad, stay mad, feel the same anger you teach us to have towards ourselves.”

That is a beautiful sendoff to those righteous people who preach morality and kindness on one hand and then act another way. He has a new fan over here. *chef's kiss"

And to have this coming from the rapping community is another big step. This is the kind of ballsy thing Kanye should/could have done if he hadn't gotten sidetracked by religion (!) and stopped taking his meds.

Also, the song is really catchy!

The USA today article about the song and the controversy used the phrase "unapologetically queer" in the headline which is not something I ever thought, as a 40 something queer person, I would see in my life.

He has the ugliest face. I can't even bring myself to play his videos.

Problem solved.

Saw an article that says Nike is suing the company that put the blood in the shoes.

Lil Nas X makes trash music and has to do this in order to stay relevant.

I love how people like you are pretending to be angry about a pair of shoes so you don’t have to admit that you’re mad about gay sex being in mainstream pop culture.

Ummm...hmmm...where do you see anger toward a pair of shoes or anger at gay sex? You had to reach pretty far up your as* to pull that out from this post.

The truth isn’t anger. Nike is suing the company that put the blood in the shoes bc that’s making a profit for someone other than Nike using their logo.

His music is trash and he is doing this to drum up interest and controversy so he can sell shoes, stay relevant, and make money. Do you know nothing about media or marketing or artists?

Lyrics to that Panini song were dumb but catchy as all hell

He doesn’t, actually. I can guess what particular aspect of his appearance you find objectionable, though!
