I had to stop and think if I posted this! DH is 80 pounds heavier than when we married. He is depressed, unemployed and incredibly unmotivated. He sleeps 10 to 12 hours a day. Our house is a shambles as I can't keep up with my job and the kids and school.

He wants to lose weight, but can't stop the drinking.

PP again. This sounds like us except mine doesn’t drink. How old are your kids? Mine has stopped taking anti depressants because he feels like they don’t work and refuses to go back to the doctor. My kids are 7 and 9. I feel like I’m drowning.

12 and 18. Older child is disabled.

She certainly enjoys the fruits of my labor, but doesn't seem to have any real desire to even somewhat reciprocate. I love her but I am definitely less physically attracted to her because of it.

Simp.

LOL you must be the loser that comes on every night and tries to convince everyone that the pinnacle of masculinity is gobbling down Mountain Dew and potato chips and cake. Enjoy your diabetes, clown.

Not sure who you’re talking about, but I don’t drink Mountain Dew or eat chips. I do like cake.

I’m actually too thin and trying to bulk up a little. I just don’t wander DCUM bragging (?) anonymously about how I’m in good shape and insulting my wife for being fat. Sucks to be you, by the way. But what do you think is gonna happen, you dork? Some DCUM lady gonna be so taken with the “fruits of your labor” (LOL!!) that she tracks you down to hit it? Again, you are a simp. Plain as day.

No you wander around calling other men simps. What a total loser. Stop justifying your dysfunctional behavior

As someone 6'2", 260 lbs, 225 at 6'2" may or may not be overweight, depending on how much muscles he has.

BMI does not factor in muscle tone. For me, people look at me and are surprised by my weight. I am built like a linebacker, which means I do not look my weight.

I am so sorry. My wife is the same as your DH and she has no libido and we have a special needs child. I suppose is socially acceptable for her to be unemployed as a woman, a SAHM.

Show him the research on what extra weight does to people's bodies and health. Maybe you can introduce him to some doctors focused on things like fasting ad health. There are a bunch of Joe Rogan episodes where he talks about these things, that even the manliest man can feel okay listening to

Geez. Sorry to hear. This should be a rule: never make your wife have to hump a fat guy - especially if she keeps herself fit. Obviously, no ones level of fitness is static and weight varies from time to time but come on.

And she doesn't need to have sex with him if he's fat and doesn't care.

Maybe a different outlook would help. Think of it this way:

There is more of him to love.

The rule should include never making your husband have to hump a fat chick as well if he's in shape.

Ditto.

I am man, 56 years-old, 6'0", 225 llb, and have 14% body fat.

I doubt it. You are probably tubby with a big soft stomach. We see you. You should move to Europe and see how slim you feel

Fat women have been fetishized since the beginning of time. Fat men never have.

And I say this as a very slim bisexual woman. Fat women can be sexy- fat men just look sad.

To guys (and girls) who can't get fit guys, yes.
