Did the OP deny there was a pandemic. Isn’t there one all over the world? What other country is considering ONLY distance learning?

None. Zilch. Nada

Other counties have it under control and have BANNED U.S. visitors genius.

Just wait. Our announcements locally were this week. More will follow.

Eating out was more important than school... this’d are the people that look like fools!

I’m in upstate NY right now with my parents and they have almost no cases right now. It’s not official yet, but the schools are not Looking like they are going to open. I do t think the schools will open anywhere in the end.

My friend is in western Mass. Opening up 5 days too. Sports as well.

These are places with some of the bets numbers in the USA, right? So if anywhere can try and open, it’s them.

California had one of the most restrictive and longest shutdowns, yet is in the same boat as the states you’re chastising. Failed logic. Next.

This.

NY was his very hard and now actually seems to be doing better. Why is that? Maybe they needed that original outbreak to get thing under control.

Maybe the shut down just prolongs the inevitable.

So true. A few major cities too. Otherwise moving on with education.

Actually, most are opening up. DC, Philly, NYC, Boston. All have hybrid plans in place.

And this is something I, honestly, don't understand. NYC's school system is huge, kids and teachers take public transportation to get to class, and NY is still offering a hybrid. Philly, Boston are big districts, too. What's different there, virus-wise? Are their teachers somehow less prone to infection?

If you look at the COVID stats, they have it under control. MD and VA do not.

So, how come the biggest city in the country, along with other big cities, can control the epidemic and MD and VA cannot? If you can stop the spread in the island of Manhattan, with people on top of each other, why can't you stop the spread in Montgomery friggin county?
Honest question.

Nobody knows. Truly. Nobody knows what the best strategy is, the data is unclear and politics/the media have muddied up the picture.

NYC/NJ got hit SO hard in the beginning. They got it sooner than we did here in the DMV. Don’t you remember the Navy hospital ship Comfort had to go help out. Remember the refrigerator trucks for the overflow of bodies?

Maybe the virus just has to get in there and run it’s course. And the only thing we can do is try to make sure we keep the cases in check enough that there ar enough hospital beds.

Would you rather be in the UK? Or Sweden? Or Israel? India, Brazil or Iraq, maybe?

The UK is going to issue sanctions against parents who do not send their kids back to school, even though Covid is still a threat. Parents may be punished if their kids do not attend.

No thanks. I’m not thrilled about DL, but I’ll take it over being forced to send the kids to school.

Um, no. Most are actually opening and will open.

Except they are not. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/13/us/school-reopening-plans-major-cities/index.html

I mean, you they are in a few places where the virus is raging and leadership does things like prohibit localities from requiring masks. Feel free to go live there. Enjoy.

What did Maine do right, so much that Trump singled them out for it?

June 5th -- Trump calls Maine Governor a dictator for refusing to open up her state.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-coronavirus-maine-janet-mills-dictator-tourists-covid-19-a9551826.html

Maine's Democratic governor, Janet Mills, has resisted re-opening the state over fears tourists will bring coronavirus there this summer. Donald Trump said Friday that makes her "like a dictator," just days after his administration unleashed federal officers and military personnel on US citizens.

During a White House press conference then during a visit to Bangor, the president seemed flabbergasted that some states, including Maine, New York, New Jersey, California and others have not begun opening their economies amid the coronavirus outbreak.

All are overseen by Democratic state chiefs executive.

While speaking with GOP officials and fishing industry officials there in the afternoon, he zeroed in on Ms Mills.

"How does she do a thing like this? Destroying your state," the GOP president said. "How does she do a thing like this?"

Have you been to Walmart without your mask? Oh wait, I am so sorry, you probably refuse to wear a mask! Did you scream at someone and then cough on them? I bet you have.

Go on with your bad self. You're a moron.
