How many people are actually having affairs?

I do agree with this in that we tend to hang out with people who are similar to us and so if we hear often that everyone around me cheats or everyone around me doesn't, it's probably true. There was a pew study that showed that cheating does happen to occur in clusters and so whom you hang out with matters, and that we can't extrapolate our experience to a national statistic.

There is always an exception, but no I don't think most of my friends are having affairs or their husbands.
I also don't buy the whole finance employee thing. I think sometimes single women in those environment kind of blow that up in their heads because they are jealous of the SAHW of the rich partners at the firm and blow that up in their heads to feel superior. I highly doubt almost everyone you know at work is having an affair unless you work in a super sleazy environment. Even if it was happening, YOU wouldn't know about all of them.
