How many people are actually having affairs?

| I admit, I live in a bubble. Give me a rough estimate. How many couples actually have affairs? Husband or wife? Also, and/or in open marriages. |

I have a lot of girlfriends I talk to regularly, on a weekly basis. About 20. I would be shocked if any of them were and no one wants to either. Most of my friends are happy with their husbands, of course most also have a rough spot from time to time.
I have never considered cheating on my husband and never would. I hope he would never do that to me or our family. |

They do it DURING work hours. My husband never traveled or stayed late at work. Zero suspicion. Nobody expected he was capable of something like this. Master of deceit. Some whore at her house around lunch time on Fridays. Even knew how to hack his iPhone Locator to make it appear he was somewhere else. They met on the Internet. But, I have heard of similar arrangements with co-workers. And you do not know what is going on in anyone else’s marriage. Most people won’t tell you this happened, especially if kids are involved. |

Right, but looking around me at my peers, all in their 40s or 50s, doing their best at work, then coming home to kids they need to drive to daily after school activities, sometimes well into the night... I don't think any of us would be receptive to all the work your describe, even midday trysts. Too tiring  !
The person who would be willing to do that and find all the secretive thing fun, is the exception, not the rule. |

Probably half the guys I work with (I work in finance). Everyone in the office knows about them. Most of them travel a lot (not now obviously) so there is a lot of opportunity. They also have a lot of dinners and events so late night opportunities. It amazes me that their wives don’t know but perhaps they put up with it because their husbands earn a lot of money.
The strangest ones are the affairs that have been going on for over 10 years and the wife still doesn’t seem to care. One guy spends a lot of time at his second home with the lawyer girlfriend. Not sure what the wife does when he is with the girlfriend. My job has left me very suspicious of high income earning men with SAHM wives. It also surprises me how vicious some people get against women having affairs when it seems so prevalent |
