No. My kids last went to school on March 6. It was so apparent things were going to get bad that we did not send them the next week. The only way you could think getting on a cruise was ok is if you were not paying attention or have no clue how to assess risk. |
What exactly would they have done with more money? You can't just say "it would have been better if you'd given us more money!" without backing that up. My impression is that there were "technical glitches" (AKA screwups) within the CDC that prevented timely test roll out, and I'm still waiting to hear how every member of the CDC was doing everything they could to make things happen and that more money would have genuinely been needed or had positive impact. And as for your 'accusation' that Trump was running around trying to procure things, I actually see that as a positive. A bit late, but something. |
They knowingly and deliberately put the rest of us at risk just to have some FUN. Absolutely no other reason except to have a bit of fun. So yeah, I have no sympathy. |
Trump isn't trying to help anyone but himself. He's not procuring things at all. |
This virus is turning me into a #NeverCruiser |
+1 Paraphrasing, paraphrasing?! Try outright lying. |
That's interesting you made that choice but I know of literally no one who did this. Our schools were open the full next week, schools closing not until the 16th. |
To be fair, my spouse works in this area. Our kids were so mad at us. And I think everyone at the school thought we were crazy. But, school is different from a vacation and people should have a much lower threshold for a vacation. I feel terrible for those who died on board. It is a real tragedy. |
There was NO article. It was from a LIVE television broadcast. I swear you are PSYCHO!!!!!!!!! |
I saw the hysteria mounting and really had expected it to die down based on the actual numbers. That did not happen, though. Regardless, we were never in danger of not getting back into the country. Our biggest danger was perhaps having one of the ports closed but that did not seem likely. Worst case scenario was that we would not be able to port and spend more days at sea than planned. We sailed from a low risk area to another low risk area and back again. |
You got lucky. It was stupid what you did. |
But if I had gone to a real high risk area (NYC) you would have sympathy for me? Make some sense. |
No it wasn't. You are just a poor judge of real risk. |
If you had gone to a crowded wedding in NYC that week, we would also say you are stupid. |
Most of the people on the ship are from the United States. “My parents only went because it wasn’t canceled,” said Marion. “It was also one of those things where you think ‘I’ve saved up so long for this, and the governments are telling me its ok to travel, so I guess I’ll get on the boat’.” Read more here: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article241559956.html#storylink=cpy |
