On an average day, a cruise ship is a floating Petri dish. People were canceling spring break plans right and left, but some people think it's a good idea to get on a ship? |
Lol. You are really reaching. I went on a March 7th cruise to the western Caribbean and it was absolutely wonderful, everyone on the ship was having a fun time, I am so glad that we were able to go before the cruise ships were stopped. I can honestly say that I am glad I went on that cruise as opposed to going to NYC...which we had talked about doing. |
Trump, Bannon, Miller tried to gut government agencies - staffing and funding. Guess what? It worked. And guess what? Crappy leadership (incl HHS) ends in crappy results. How much were they “allowed” to purchase? Sounds like Trump is shopping around for deals himself (against the states). |
You went on a cruise this month? LOL. |
Exactly. How fast people forget. |
Yes. And I'm alive to tell about it! |
I guess you missed the HEADLINE in the sun sentinel article. But no apology is necessary. I find you tiresome to deal with, like a dim bulb or a dull knife. |
The ship was trying to get permission to port in Florida and Florida said no. That ship was not originally bound for Florida and really has nothing to do with Florida, the governor of Florida or President Trump. The HEADLINE is BS. |
Pence remarks on March 7th at a press briefing. He says to follow CDC guidance, discusses recommendations to stay at home and avoid large crowds.
"And so, for anyone within the sound of my voice, if you are yourself a senior citizen with a serious underlying medical condition or if you have a loved one with a serious underlying medical condition, it is just a good time to practice common sense just to protect your health, the health of your family, and the health of the community." https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-vice-president-pence-coronavirus-briefing-cruise-line-executives-port-directors-ft-lauderdale-fl/ |
No..... On March 7, people knew exactly what was coming. On March 13, they shut our schools down. That entire week before people were on egg shells and some businesses started asking their employees to work from home. As for cruise ships, that’s when everyone was saying “Who the hell would go on a cruise ship right now???” I suppose some people don’t pay attention to news or don’t believe what they hear, but they deserve their fate. |
Italy was level 3 on 2/27. But at that time South America had posted no COVID. It must have been a very long cruise if it hasn’t finished by now. |
Ummm what? Diamond Princess was already a huge fiasco by the end of February. Also at the end of February, there was evidence of community spread in the States as well as many other countries outside of China. My kids' school closed two days later. I was certainly contemplating cancelling my domestic travel plans for later in March by then and certainly wouldn't have gotten on a cruise! |
No one deserves an infectious disease. |
Just stop it. We boarded our cruise just fine, had an amazing week and our teenagers (gasp!!!) held down the fort at home all by themselves. |
How does it make you feel to read that everyone on this thread would have no sympathy if you were dying now because you did that. This pandemic is bringing the lord of the flies types in our culture |
