How to not “let yourself go”?

She must make a good career. She must be an involved mother and spend quality time with her children. She must maintain attractive looks - go to the gym and beauty salons regularly. She must maintain her house and host social gatherings. She must cook healthy and delicious meals. She must keep her husband interested - date night, etc.

Am I missing anything?

Yes. You're missing everything a devoted, loving husband contributes.

No caffeine
No... none... not a drop of alcohol

only 1 fruit serving a day
many veggies
1 serving a meat a day
no dairy
10 nuts

Many reps of low weights
Run but no more than 5 miles... you end up walking like a duck if you run too much
sit ups, pushups, squats, lunges... every single day

Are you saying this is what you have to do to maintain your weight?

This is horrible. I'm 5'7, 118 lbs. and I drink coffee with cream, eat sugar and carbs every day, drink a couple glasses of wine every night. I could never live like that. I'd rather be dead.

I thought the same thing! This list is insane. If this is what you need to do to not gain weight, I don't think it's worth it! For most people, all they have to do is cut out the beer or wine.

No this has nothing to do with weight.

This has to do with whole body health and not looking aged.

Wrinkles on you face, wrinkly bodies, elbows that look like grandma.

I’m sure your skinny but don’t look young.

It’s fine. I think women should let themselves go a little.

I think a mother of the bride trying to look like a bride is gauche.

Enjoy your glass of wine and a few characteristic wrinkles.

I missed sunscreen and no tanning on my list.

Also have you ever seen a runner at 50, they look like walking dead... it’s not healthy.

What’s wrong with letting yourself go? One of the joys of aging is becoming comfortable in your own skin and not giving a flip what others think. Who are you trying to impress anyway?

I agree but some women need to keep a man or they are screwed.

That is so sad.

I keep seeing people on here mentioning that they've let themselves go because they wear casual clothing all the time as SAHMs.

Can someone give me an example of a person who is dressed up but casually and hasn't let themselves go?

What are you supposed to wear to the park if not jeans and a tee shirt?

Stay slim and fit, maintain your hair and grooming (waxing etc), keep your wardrobe updated, and maintain inner peace. Equilibrium is really the secret to beauty and grace.

You can dress up jeans and a T-shirt, or at least make it a look. I’m at the mechanic in jeans and a T-shirt, but am wearing high end slip on sneakers, have a nice utility jacket, and a nice handbag on. I also put on some jewelry. It’s the little things.

I like how this person dresses. She mostly wears dresses and skirts but even when she's wearing jeans, she still wears jewelry and no tennis shoes.

I dress similarly, but not too the park. I mean, an over the shower sweater and pointy toes shoes at the playground?

Come on.
