How to not “let yourself go”?

Unless you have unlimited funds, there are opportunity costs. I spend about 2000 dollars a year on looking human (almost sixty) mostly so I won't get fired since I can't afford to retire. If I wasn't spending all that money on Botox, peels, juvederm, etc. I'd probably go on a 3 week vacation to Africa. But I can't afford to do both!

Who knew there were so many jealous women on DCUM! The same women that complain about others maintaining their looks are the same people that look like linebackers and have cheating s/o's.

Within reason, maintaining the best version of yourself is not just vanity, it’s also a courtesy to others that says you care how others see you. I’m saddened by how much Americans slob out. I used to be a photo archivist and have seen many historical photos taken over the past 120 years. I wish people would put in the effort that we used to. On an average workday, people looked much more pulled together.

This might be the dumbest sh!t I've read in a long time.

Why? Do you not care how people perceive you? Don't tell me you go to work wearing your bathrobe and slippers??

Some people here are delusional. We all care about our looks...no matter how low maintenance you say you are. Perhaps in a perfect world someone's personality would be "enough" but that's not realistic at all. Get your head out of your ass.
