Did you look at the report OP posted? NoVa now has more Jewish residents than suburban Maryland or DC, and they are younger as well.

Just strikes me as so bizarre.

You're struck in a mindset that existed 20 years ago. Times have changed. NoVa is now very, very blue, and more Jewish than MoCo.

MoCo is one county. NoVa is about 7 counti/cities.

Also, Chutpah is not a great Jewish Deli. Mediocre at best. I thought Celebrity Deli I Falls Church was pretty good, but not sure if it still exists.

So then you're saying that the stats in the study that OP posted are wrong?

DP here, but did you read the whole study? The Suburban Maryland counties included were limited to Montgomery and Prince George's County. The NoVA counties in the study includes Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince Williams, so it's not surprising the the total population of Jews from all of NoVA is higher. I am curious that if Howard County was included, what the stats would show. Moreover, if you compare county to county, Montgomery would still have a higher Jewish population than the individual NoVA counties.

Ok. Still, NoVa has changed for the better, and it keeps getting better.

And the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park.

if you look at the maps, though, the geographic areas look roughly the same size (suburban MD v. suburban NoVa). MoCo is HUGE.

Montgomery County covers as much ground as Fairfax County, Arlington, and the City of Alexandria combined. You would be loading the dice to compare MoCo to just one NoVa jurisdiction.

In MD, the the cities are part of the counties (e.g., city of Rockville). In MD, they are not.

MoCo has regions with high percentage of jewish people (e.g., Rockville, Silver Spring). In NoVA is it more spread out. But, I would guess, for example, Madison HS is about 5% jewish.

Yes, MoCo has regions with high percentages of Jewish residents. It also has a lot of areas where the Jewish population left years ago and isn't coming back.

Very scattered. My DS is always the only Jewish kid in class. We are in FCPS.

Pretty sure Arlington is the most Jewish relative to population size of all the counties/cities in NoVA.

And Fairfax County is bigger and more populous.

No, that's incorrect.
Fairfax County itself is bigger than MoCo and has a bigger population.
A simple Google search could have told you so.
I know this is DCUM, but do you people just make things up to make you feel better?

NP. Fairfax has more people; Montgomery is a larger county (491 vs 391 square miles). Maybe you’re the one who needs to do more research before you post and embarrass yourself.

A lot go to Gesher, the private Jewish school. Otherwise, just all over, but otherwise no big concentration anywhere.
