No different than Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg, and Germantown having white flight. Silver Spring too. Everybody is all for diversity until it starts ruining their own schools and their property levels go down. Liberals are so fake. |
Huh? My kids go to Wilson Wims and we are extremely happy. We love living in Clarksburg. Don’t move there if you don’t like it—isn’t it great that we have choices about where to live? |
Clarksburg ES parent here and we love our school and neighborhood too! |
I worked in a W school. Fights occurred there occasionally, too. |
There are fights, but they aren’t reported to adults. Including bathroom beatdowns. |
Anyone who thinks their HS only had 1 fight this year is dillusional. Majority of fights are not reported hence many parents don't find out about them. Signed, someone whose best friend is a counselor at a W school and previously at a non-W. |
| I live in Clarksburg and have kids at Little Bennett and in one of the middle school. I’m extremely happy with the area and the school. |
Little Bennett is an amazing school. If we hadn’t moved for my husbands job, we would have moved into the neighborhood that feeds into that community. -Former MCPS teacher |
| Remember awhile ago people try to boost that Clarksburg was ALOT better than NW ? Lmao |
Magruder maybe but Gaithersburg ? No it has almost has 50% farms. But I would choose magruder or Clarksburg over Gaithersburg any day ! |
What’s the issue? Who cares if some white folks are leaving? |
I don’t think that they are fake - it’s more like they want decent schools for their kids and some return on the investment of buying a house. Liberals and conservatives alike don’t like to be poor. |
Magruder has 33% FARMS and Gaithersburg 40% FARMS |
How could Clarksburg have some serious white flight in the last 10 years when most of the residents of Clarksburg only moved to Clarksburg within the last 10-15 years? Plus, as another PP says, even if it did, so what? There have been plenty of people of "random diversity" (whatever that means) moving in. If that's something you don't like, then don't move to Clarksburg. |
