Private school kids are well supervised and if kids behaved that way they’d be booted out. If you’re talking about a large catholic school it might happen once but there would be hell to pay if you acted that way. That’s why kids are sent there - it’s an extra set of parents. Very strict parents! |
What are the demographic differences between the two areas? |
What it comes down to are pockets of poverty in Montgomery Village that brings crime. Go to ... http://crimereport.com/ type in Montgomery village, md then Clarksburg, md There are very nice parts of Montgomery Village. |
|
Here you go: Montgomery Village: Hispanic residents (31.5%), White residents (31.4%), Black residents (21.5%), Asian residents (11%), Median household income: $76,105 Clarksburg: Asian residents (33.5%), White residents (31.4%), Black residents (18.5%), Hispanic residents (12.7%), median household income: $135,274 |
Clarksburg High School is 19% Asian 29% Black 29% Hispanic 19% White 27% FARMS Looks very similar to Gaithersburg and Magruder High schools to me. |
Clarksburg HS draws from neighborhoods in Germantown. Daly and Fox Chapel go to CHS and those are two tough schools. I would bet the majority of issues stem from kids who live in those neighborhoods. Not all, but most. |
If you have a problem with a high school where white students are in the minority, then please don't move to Clarksburg. -parent of one of the white students at Clarksburg |
This. Clarksburg pulls from Rocky Hill MS in Clarksburg, Hallie Wells MS (part of it) in Clarksburg and Neelesville MS in Germantown. Rocky Hill MS and Hallie Wells MS have very similar demographics and are highly rated schools . Neelesville- not so much. I know this is not going to sound good but I think the Neelesville kids are the source of most of the problems. |
You're right. It doesn't. You don't know who causes the problems or where they live -- and neither do I. So why are you blaming it on students from Neelsville MS? |
NP. I worked in one of the feeder schools mentioned. Some of the kids are completely out of control even in elementary school. They get older and bigger and the behavior escalates even more and becomes more dangerous. These are the kids whose parents would refuse to attend EMTs and would hang up on the school when we called home. It’s really really tough. |
Neelsville is a rough school with 64% FARMS. There is a high number of kids there from troubled backgrounds. This isn't some made up story. Why do you think MCPS pulled Neelesville into CHS? Without Neelsville, CHS would be a different HS. |
This is what you're saying. -There are lots of kids at Neelsville MS who are poor. -Some of the kids from Neelsville MS go to Clarksburg HS. -Therefore, the problem-causing kids at Clarksburg HS come from Neelsville MS. |
|
Lol!!! Neelsville is SO UNSAFE which is exactly why they have one of the early intervention centers onsite where people bring their young children for service.
I love how yet again, Germantown is being blamed. Was the offending student from Germantown? |
Clarksburg had some serious white flight in the last 10 years. It is an issue. Maybe not for you, but for others that overpaid up there, it sure was. You can’t put country original hicks and wanna be “Potomac living” young white families in with all kinds of random diversity. Real estate turn over has been huge. The promises of fixed traffic and great schools were a bust. |
