You are probably allowing yourself to get dehydrated. FWIW, the idea of eating fatty food is gross to me, too. But the reality of what I actually do eat looks pretty healthy actually. Ground turkey and spinach, salmon and broccoli, chicken and brussels sprouts, sausage and sauerkraut, bacon and eggs, broth, limited nuts/cheese. I don't go overboard on the fat I eat. I'm mindful of my portions and if I snack I stick to things like avocado, olives and other snacks. Keto gets rid of ravenous hunger caused by blood sugar swings and that puts you in control of what/when/how much you eat. I never find myself grabbing something/anything/whatever because I don't get starving like that on Keto. |

Had to chime in here. Basically went for it based on this thread. Keeping to a diet very similar to the poster above and have been for a week. I don't believe in any moombely joombely, but I'll be damned if I don't feel just great. Down 3 lbs to since Sunday. It took a little more planning than I usually am accustomed to, but I've also saved money on eating out. The real test will be this weekend when pizza night for the kids rolls around and brunch on Sunday with Friends.
But to reiterate, I sure do feel good. I have had hip pain since I had my last kid and kettlebell classes had helped it about 75% but it was still always there, but it is no problem at all this week. Maybe it was some underlying inflammatory thing. Again, moombely joombely, but whatever. I only need to lose 15lbs and I think if I can maintain this trajectory, it should be relatively quick and sustainable? |

I’ve been keto for a week and a half now.
I felt super bizarre, like hung over, for two days about 3 days in, and no amount of magnesium, potassium or sodium helped, and I was drinking a lot of water. Felt better after that. What I’ve noticed is that I do not feel ravenous, and I have a calorie deficit as I’m trying to lose weight. I don’t have a ton of energy nor do I feel AMAZING, but I feel good. I definitely do not feel bloated anymore, which feels nice. I’ve lost 2 pounds. I’m trying to lose 15 more. I also have sensory processing issues, and am seeing if this may help with some of that. |
PP here. I wasn’t dehydrated, I drink about three liters of water per day. Keto just doesn’t work for me. I’m even more hungry, I feel gross, and I don’t lose weight. I believe it works great for some people, because we all have different genetics and microbiomes, but I am not one of those people. I also don’t enjoy living a life where I am afraid of certain food groups and don’t eat them. |
Lol at "moombley joombley". This is my new favorite phrase.

Keto is forcing your body into starvation mode so it feeds on itself. It's not healthy and makes you feel terrible but it does help you lose weight. Personally, I could barely climb a flight of stairs when I was in true ketoacidosis.

I think you meant ketosis. The goal of Keto is to get into ketosis. Big difference. Really big difference. |
Ketosis and ketoacidosis are two completely different things. You should not have been climbing stairs in ketoacidosis, you should have been at the hospital. You are lucky you didnt die! |
