NP here. The poster above simply said that if the MS13 gang members who stabbed the Wilson student are illegal aliens they should be deported. You say that the poster is disgusting. Your reasons: 1) a large majority of 15-17 old Hispanics are citizen - so what? the PP simply said that if the perpetrators are illegal they should be deported, what's relevant is their status, not the status of the large majority. 2) we should not bring down Wilson - what has this to do with the fact that the PP is disgusting in your opinion? ran our of arguments already? then you talk about the Principal, again this has nothing to do with why the PP should be considered disgusting.

We don't know that happened, maybe these were students with no connection whatsoever to gangs, there was an argument, one student had a small knife and a child was stabbed. But the PP was responding to the allegation that the perps might be gang members. If so, saying that they should be deported if are here illegally seems a no brainer. Do you think that violent gang members who are in this country illegally and go around stubbing teenagers after school should stay in the country?

Just suggesting that they could be illegal is the disgusting part. My cousin was killed by an Asian gang member (illegal alien). I don't assume all Asians or Asian criminals are illegal. Get it?

I can't follow your logic. First you suggest that the criminals are not Wilson students. Then you say that the principal should not encourage students to come forward presumably because of the threat that gang members pose to other students.

If these are "students" they need to be expelled with extreme prejudice and then sent away to a hard time prison.

Nope, I am really curious if they are students, didn't know if it was reported yet. I am staying whether they are students or not, the principal should NOT encourage students to come forward unless explicitly asksed by MPD.

I am from Compton. While crips and bloods originated in LA, they are very prevalent in NY, Chicago etc. MS-13 is quite arguably the largest gang in America, they don't just reside in suburbs.

Do you really want your kid to be an identifiable witness in a gang trial? I could see if it was absolutely necessary, but even then it's not a principal's position to encourage minors to put themselves in that position. If the parents want to come forward that's on them. If police want to ask for help, that's on them.

Sorry, pal. The disgusting part is that students are being stabbed at Wilson, allegedly by members of a gang with a fearsome national reputation for depraved violence and vengeance. This follows someone bringing a loaded weapon into the school school just weeks ago. DC's best public high school seems to be turning into 'Hood High. Get it?

Just to be clear, the entirety of the "allegation" about a gang is one anonymous poster's daughter. Nothing against the poster or her daughter, but that sourcing is a bit thin. I was so sorry to hear of this yesterday. I don't have a Wilson student, but I work in Tenleytown and saw the crime scene tape and police on my commute.

I hope the child who was assaulted is okay and I hope they get the kind of counselling and psychological support they need as well as physical healing.

I'm also really really sad and mad about the perpetrators. Given the description, they sound like teens (120lbs? Probably a young kid, no?). How are we failing our children so that they are so disaffected that they are committing violent crimes? And what does our community need to do to stop this? And not just in NW DC; this happens across our city. As adults we have a duty of responsibility to the children in our community.
