DC Public and Public Charter Schools
| I was just in Tenleytown and the place was crawling with police and EMS. A bystander said one group of kids jumped another group of kids and beat the heck out of them. Another witness thought he saw a knife. He said it was insane the anger and violence these kids seemed to unleash on one another. The police had cordoned off the entire area behind whole foods with police tape and were telling people not to cross. Groups of kids were just snickering at the police and crossing anyway. They had zero respect for authority and the only person I saw pulled aside by the police was an older lady. |
|
According to what I see in Twitter, one student was stabbed and there is a lookout for two teens that fled the area.
|
Older ladies can be pretty scary, just saying. |
| Just saw on the news that a kid was stabbed. |
| Reading this whilst in line to check out at whole foods...eff. |
Guess I should clarify - the tenley whole foods. |
If I thought my husband knew about this website I would think you were him. he's there now too. |
that's horrible . . . not the one where I get my greek yogurt? |
| Why do you need to be flip about an assault? |
Because if anyone asks outraged, they are told to have more compassion for the youth committing the violence and understanding for why they disrespect the police. |
| Daughter said it was done by a MS-13 member. |
| What is MS-13? |

Letter from Principal Martin:
Dear Members of the Wilson High School Community: At Wilson High School, we highly value and are committed to fostering a learning environment where students feel safe and secure. We also want to clearly communicate with parents about safety issues when they arise. Today after dismissal, one of our students was injured in an altercation near the TenleyTown-American University Metro station. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening and he is expected to make a full recovery. However, it is possible that your child may have witnessed or heard about this incident and is experiencing emotions such as fear, sadness, or anxiety. Please know that we have counselors on site that are available to support any students in need. While I cannot share any further details, as doing so may impede the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) investigation, I want to assure you that the safety of all Wilson High School students is our top priority, and we remain committed to ensuring that your students are safe. Thank you again for your cooperation and support. Sincerely, Kimberly J. Martin, Principal, Wilson High School |
