We have to know how student and employee safety will be ensured. We have to know what our parental rights are and how it will change. It's not just about transgenders, we're all affected and have the right to have input.

The same way it is currently handled. If kids and employees aren't being kept safe that is a separate issue. How will allowing discrimination make them safer? It clearly won't make anyone transgender safer. No one is making you send your kids to FCPS.

There is already a policy in place to protect against discrimination. It would never be allowed. But why should I give someone extra protective measures to use whatever bathroom or locker room they feel like using? Do I want my daughter changing clothes alongside a teacher who identifies himself as female? Or someone claiming to be transgendered but is not, just to gain access? Pedophiles look for opportunities like this. They could easily lie and simply claim they're transgender.

No, actually, the true hypocrites are liberals. They generally want any idea that they don't like to be outlawed, and if anyone disagrees with them, they are accused of being a bigot, a racist, a homophobe, or whatever other name they come up with. I'm tired of the lies from liberals. Every conservative I know is more accepting and tolerant of people with different beliefs, but every liberal I encounter is full of hate for anyone who disagrees with them about anything. Yes there are and they are protected from discrimination under the current policy. If we hire consultants of course us taxpayers foot the bill.

It would also prohibit parents from transferring their child to another class if they are not comfortable with having a transgender teacher.

Good question. I'm the PP who said I don't want my kids in the class with the children whose parents are jackasses and I'm pretty middle of the road (my bedroom safe holds a gun AND a vaporizer). I've voted Third Party in every major election that I can remember. From what I've seen/ heard in discussions with my friends and neighbors who have kids in FCPS, people are all over the place re: this topic, regardless of political affiliation. Anyone who thinks this is a liberal vs conservative issue is sorely mistaken.
