They did not hear about this because the school board purposefully and deliberately did this in a way to slide the change in with no parent knowlege or input.

Why the F are we allowing them to hire another freaking consultant for a dog and pony show to make a policy change that will happen anyway. Stop wasting money. We don't have any to waste if you haven't noticed.

FCPS it is the language that is a problem:

No student, employee, or applicant for employment in the Fairfax County Public Schools shall, on the basis of age, race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, marital status, or disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity, as required by law. It is the express intent of the School Board that every policy, practice, and procedure shall conform to all applicable requirements of federal and state law.

"gender identity" is to broad. It should read "transgender" this is not a problem.

What is this going to do for sports?

I really do not understand the ramifications of this.

Could a boy who identifies as a girl swim with the girls for competition?
Play soccer with the boys and field hockey with the girls?

I think only if they physically transition and take appropriate hormones.

It is like the ones at Starbucks. One stall. Any gender can use it. It is like the bathrooms we have in our homes.

OK. I was just confused because at the schools the bathrooms are for multiple people.

I don't understand how sports and the bathroom would work.it wouldn't be fair if a boy was competing in girls sports.
