Gender identity vote tonight, What does it mean? Are you allowed to switch teachers if they are tran

If you want a better idea of next steps, read some of the decisions from US DoE Office of Civil Rights investigations into gender identity harassment in school districts

It is the express intent of the School Board that every policy, practice, and procedure shall conform to all applicable requirements of federal and state law.

"gender identity" is to broad. It should read "transgender" this is not a problem.

gender identity covers cisgender, transgender and gender fluid.

OK this is so new for me. What do you mean by cisgender and gender fluid.

Just as sexual orientation includes heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual, gender identity includes cisgender, transgender and gender fluid.

Thank you for posting.

This sounds like a lot of unnecessary expense for school districts.

It also sound like the DoE is moving towards requiring schools to let anyone, regardless of their anatomy, use any locker room they happen to "feel" they identify with.

This implementation listed on your link sounds very, very different from all the assurances from the school board of what would not ever happen in fcps.

cisgender = normal

it's a made-up word for normal by people who are trying to normalize the not-normal or pathological

So if a kid makes fun off anyone it's now a federal offense? Talk about big government overreach. I guess this is 1984.

Does anyone know much about the "consultant"? Is the consultant designated by Arne?

+1.

In chemistry, "cis" is actually the opposite of "trans." So, to normalize the word and situation "trans," we start calling everyone else "cis."

See how the PC police work?

They use science.

Why does that upset transphobic people? They weren't using it.

There is no label needed for the norm.

Read the FAQs in OPs original link. This is addressed.

I didn't see student on student bullying in the original policy. Can you tell me where if a kid makes fun of someone it's a federal offense?
