The vaginal mound gets fat. If you ever get a tummy tuck they usually get the mound as well. |
Yeah, I know, I'm worried about this. I was prompted to start this thread because a friend basically implied she'd have guessed I was pregnant if it wasn't for the fact I had drinks in my hand all night. I know I messed up and really blimped up this year and probably am going to blimp up even more before the year ends-- I've just never had issues with my weight before. Life's been good to me (and full of delicious things) but I think after 2014 I'll have learned my lesson. |
| Also, it seems like from other comments on the thread, I'm not alone. |

Wow, people sure are mean! As if she didn't know how the weight got on there. And sorry, but many of us have NO extra time this time of year to be doing a lifestyle change.
OP, I feel you. I'm 45 now and really have to restrict my holiday indulgences now that I'm older. Like, I will have only one eggnog this year. Spanx, dark colors, long necklaces, are all good tips. Get a couple of inexpensive tops at Target in a bigger size if you're really in trouble, but give them away immediately after the holidays. Also, don't let worries about your weight get in the way of having a good time. I wish I had a million more pictures of me at 30 when I was so much younger and fresher. I was so busy worrying about weight and how I looked that it really cut into my enjoyment. Nothing is prettier than a woman who is comfortable with herself and happy. |
| Op, if it makes you feel better, I get a winter tummy and saddlebags every year and lose them by Memorial Day. |
|
Wear black- it is slimming.
Then get a statement necklace- something with some bling and that will draw attention to your neck/face area. |
| Thanks for the kindness, PPs above...my only worry about a statement necklace is that it will over emphasize the boob gain. May look for a new black wrap dress to wear. |

OP, I am 31 this year and this is the first time I have ever had an issue too! I gained 8 lbs since June, primarily over the summer. I haven't been working out and have consumed lots of bad carbs. My plan is to work out almost daily the next two weeks and then cut calories after the New Year. My boobs, stomach and thighs have taken a hit. I am getting a couple of colonics as well.
I will not be a statistic. Would love if we could all check in here next month with a status update. |
Colonics won't help unless you're constipated. |
I'm game though eight pounds sounds like nothing from where I'm sitting. |
| This thread is making me very aware of how tight my clothes are...and yet I'm about to have some chocolate. Right there with you OP. |
| OP, do you have any kids? After I had a baby, any weight/bloating I had showed up in my stomach more because my core muscles were weaker. |
| No kids, was planning to ttc in Jan but am going to want to get this weight off first so things don't spiral out of control. How fast do you think I can safely lose it? |

That's the scary part. So much harder to lose the weight than to gain it. For me losing 2 lb/week is a good pace. |
OMG, do not get colonics. That is so bad for your colon. To the OP, I got really disgusted with myself after Thanksgiving. I've been trying to eat very little wheat (bread, pasta, cookies) since then, and fill up more on veggies, and just generally try to display a little more moderation with the other bad stuff. My digestive system is not happy, but I am down 5 lbs since Dec. 1 and feel much better about myself. |
