I know I will be accused of lying, but I am 5' 6" and 180 as of this morning and I am an 8-10. I share clothes with my friends that are around 140. There are huge variations in body composition. This is a useless game to play. |
It really is. I'm 5'10, 165 and wear an 8 or a 10. There is just no telling how an individual piece of clothing will vary from one person to another. |
| Also, disgusted with self, had a small/healthy lunch but have eaten about ten pieces of fudge since then. Maybe I did need all the lectures the other day. |
Um OP, not trying to lecture you but you know better than that! And I say that in a kind spirit, not a mean one. You are't gonna go from 10 pieces of fudge in an afternoon to a strict no carb diet. You just aren't. You've got to incorporate some better eating habits, starting now. Like 2 pieces of fudge instead of 10. |
| Yeah, I know, thank you! |
| I think I'm also going to schedule a doctor's appt in early Jan for accountability. |
That's a great idea. If your appetite has increased out of nowhere it could be an easily correctable medical issue |
I think this one falls squarely on me and my bad habits, but always good to check/get yelled at. |
I am in the same boat. My go-to top doesn't fit right anymore. My loose skirts are now my snug skirts. My tight pants are impossible. I really, really do not like this one bit. The extra boobs are nice. The extra rest of it, not so much. |
OP again-- husband is very into the boobs, and is politely ignoring the pregnant-looking belly. I appreciate it. |
No. I am 44 and a size 3-4 |
Sorry, to clarify: I know there are many people over 30 who are thin and/or fit, I just wondered if it took a higher investment of effort as one got older. I didn't mean to imply I thought turned 30 was the cause of my weight gain, just if age related metabolic slow down was likely to make it harder to get away w irresponsible eating than in the past. |

OP has gained 22 lbs in two months!! That's insane and don't kid yourself. It's not water weight. Maybe 1-2 lbs at most could be water weight.
Quit drinking so much and stop pigging out. Seriously, this is not 5 lbs. Its 11 lbs a month. You are gorging. Accept your "holiday treat season" has been two months long and has now ended and get your train back on the track. |
| Yeah this thread has a lot of people being nice at the expense of being honest. OP's current weight isn't a big deal but the pace of gain certainly is. |
| I agree. Over 20 lbs in two months is astonishing and would take most people actual work to accomplish, similarly to losing weight. It takes 3500 calories to gain/lose a pound, OP. You've eaten 70,000 calories too many over the last two months. Why is there even still fudge in your house?! |
