Is she the same race as you?

Are you aware of the price of American Girl dolls and accessories? That will come up in about 5-6 years.

I just get the ponytail holders that match her hair color. Wasn't aware of the American Girl doll pricing - thanks for the warning.

Why did you adopt her?

I think kids need stable adults who love and can care for them, raise them to be good adults. That can come in many forms.

Why the shock face? I'm another single mom by choice who wishes OP the best.

I'm a third.

3/4 of the way.

Do you have help at home (a nanny, a housekeeper, etc.)?

OP, I am thrilled to announce that this thread is boring.
We've come a long way.
Congrats and best of luck.

I also like you, OP. and hang in there with ages 3 & 4!

Is your DD into princesses and fairies?

Does your DD know she's adopted? How did you explain it to her and when? Or, if she doesn't know, when will you tell her and how?

Are you religious? Do you take her to church or temple?

She is not into princesses and fairies (yet?).
Yes, she's aware she was adopted. I was telling her since before she could understand.

I was raised Southern Baptist, which you may know, is not a fan of the gays to put things lightly. I've thought about seeking out a UU church but go back and fort on it. On one hand, religion was such an important part of my life growing up. Basically all our structure came from that. On the other, it's left such a bitter taste in my mouth and I seem to be doing fine without it.

We were in New York last year days before Christmas and I took her into a church during non-service hours. Just so she could see how pretty it was.

OP, you must really like kids to take on this monumental task as single, gay dad. This is extremely rare and first time I've heard of it.

I applaud you and wish you all the best, I truly do. Hope you have fun, love and all the rewards that parenting offers.

Thanks! I thought I really liked kids a lot. Then I got mine and now it seems like I just tolerate them, and really like my own.
