It was exciting, and then after everyone went home and it was just the two of us home alone, it was totally terrifying. I remember looking at the dog and thinking even she looked scared. I had one very supportive relative and some supportive friends.

Do you have a support group here? Single parenting seems like it's hard enough without having to worry about homophobic reactions at every turn...

No. I said I was open to an open adoption and wanted it for my daughter because everything I've read on the subject suggests it's healthier. The birth mother said that's what she wanted too, but the way thinks have evolved it seems to me she wanted to move on with her life and not be reminded of that period. I am half hoping she comes around and half trying to figure out how I'll explain this to my daughter when she's older.

Not a specific support group that's meant to be such, no. But I've gathered the village for sure in addition to being a member of orgs like Lambda Legal.

Depending if they're thick or thin. I'd say anywhere from 4-8.

Why the shock face? I'm another single mom by choice who wishes OP the best.

Do you match her hair doodles with her outfit...when kids match too much, it means dad dressed them.

Are you aware of the price of American Girl dolls and accessories? That will come up in about 5-6 years.

Do You think kids need a father and mother figure?

Why did you adopt her?

I like you. You sound like a good father. That's all.
