What was it like bringing the baby home? Did you have support? I'm guessing being a single parent is the really hard part, not the gay part! (Once you left the south that is.)

It was exciting, and then after everyone went home and it was just the two of us home alone, it was totally terrifying. I remember looking at the dog and thinking even she looked scared. I had one very supportive relative and some supportive friends.

Are you concerned when dating that it may be someone who might be a potential child molester, as is the case with some single moms who are cautious about bringing men they are dating around their kids?

Not really. It's probably in the back of every parent's mind to worry about that, but I am a pretty good judge of character, plus don't bring dates around my daughter.
