Here is a video of the victim speaking out:
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/crime/blog/2011/04/rosedale_mcdonalds_beating_goe.html Are any charges being sought against the two foul woman and employees at mcdonalds? I have not heard of any arrests! |
| Again, eloquent justification/description, PP, and I think most people would want to understand what really happened. The use of the term "animal" I'd apply to any criminal, regardless of color, and a deserved adjective based on the behavior we have seen. People who treat others as they did, with clearly no regard for others, are not deserving of any special "human consideration" in my mind. What they did was inexcusable, plain and simple. |
|
Absolutely outrageous. This shows the extent to which transgendered people in this society suffer at the hands of ignorant people.
You can say what you want about Baltimore, but I can't stand the place. Worked in East Balto for 3 years and was relieved to leave. |
Slavery, the gift that keeps giving.

PP here again...
I've watched the video of her interview and the full story doesn't jibe with the quoted statement. It seems as if the primary instigation was that one of the attacker's friends or boyfriends made a pass at Ms. Poli. It seemed to escalate when they realized she was transgendered. The attack was ugly and the girls should be prosecuted in accordance with he juvenile justice system. I still think we should put all the "sky is falling" rhetoric away and explore how our response was influenced by the race of the victim and the attackers, but that is another question for another day. |
what? i dont get this post. |
| 14:08 you sound like a nice person but a little naive. What possible context could excuse such behavior? I don't know if you are talking about bad upbringing, misunderstanding of transgender issues, or what else. The context is on the video and is really all the information needed. It is probably all the information the prosecuting attorneys will need to get a conviction in court as well. In this particular situation where a little bit beyond 'why the hate?'. This is a crime and I don't give a good GD what happened beforehand or what the victim's personal situation was. I WTF was the slavery comment all about? |
PS-hit submit too soon. Not attributing the slavery comment to 14:08. |
What REALLY happened is they were animals who beat a person beyond what the circumstances required. And make no mistake, the circumstances didn't require ANY violence. |
| The attackers should have their heads kicked for a few minutes to see how it feels (NOT REALLY, but I wish). Instead they'll get a slap on the wrist in juvie or probation.. |
I get what this poster is saying. Slavery, Jim Crow, and racism down through the years has contributed to a lot of devastating things for the African American community, including low employment, drugs, decline of families, unending poverty. Mix all that up with today's craven cultural influences and parents (of every race) who aren't willing to raise their children, and you get people who act like this. There have always been attacks and many times in our history they've been committed by white people against minorities. But for young girls to act like this ... I think our society and our country are falling apart. |
Exactly. You cannot commit that kind of crime against humanity and not have major consequences. The children will bear the sins of the parents. |

I teach mostly AA males and females. And while we have our problems, I can say that my students - even with the obstacles they face - would never behave in that animalistic way.
So although many are poor and come from broken homes, they would never stoop so low.
|
Exactly. Just another incident of payback for all the evils commited by whites. |
| This is just getting absurd. Our country has a history of enslavement and oppression of racial minorities, immigrants, women, religious minorities, gays and lesbians, and the poor but it is a viscous attack by two young girls that is evidence of our country falling apart. Really? |
