Horrific and shameful. And the comments on the video aren't much better.
Kudos to the older woman who stepped up. I hope the employees and the women who led the assault are charged and sent to prison. |

| I'm so disgusted that I'm from that area and thank god everyday that I got out of that trashy place. The sad thing is that my childhood friends are calling this a racially motivated crime. People are throwing around the N word left and right. My 'friend' actually commented that she heard the victim was transgender 'but that doesn't excuse it'. Oh my god!!! And before anyone goes there, the people I grew up with in the area are very clearly and unapologetically racist and have no problem admitting it so I'm not jumping to conclusions with labels. What is so horrible is that if all the people involved were white or even black for that matter, none of the locals would be up in arms over a transgender person being the victim of a hate crime. |

ummm, it has nothing to do with Baltimore. This kind of behavior happens all over the place, including DC. And how is it sad to say it is a racially motivated crime? If two white girls had beaten the crap out of a black girl while a crowd of white folks did nothing (and helped the white criminals escape), would you say the same thing? Not saying it was a racially motivated crime, but clearly not a ridiculous assumption. |

I'm not saying that at all. Black on white crime is just as bad as the reverse. What I'm saying is that the same people that are outraged over this being racial (as they see it) aren't factoring in the harassment and violence that transgender and gay people face everyday, nor do most of them care. They only care about it being a hate crime when it suits their biased way of thinking. A Hate crime is not acceptable in any context but what upsets me is that my friend's comment made it seem like a sliver of justification could be made because the person was transgender. |

I'm glad someone at least took the video. At least there is some proof. And, hope that leads to some prosecution of these 'girls' (animals). |
