But if we pass this, it will be legal out of cycle gerrymandering. You won’t be able to complain about it when a R does it in the future. Or do you imagine that the Rs will magically disappear like after Biden was elected? |
It won’t be an abuse if we make it legal in VA ans everywhere else. Somehow it seems like we are playing into that man’s hands. |

Given the utter shitshow of this administration - in the economy, in jobs, in massive price increases, in killing US citizens, in acting recklessly and not thinking...
vote yes. For the love of god, vote yes. This isn't just an R vs. D thing - it's a matter of getting some control back from a drunk administration. |
Short term gain for long term loss. |
Actually, it's more like the opposite if you don't want this country to collapse. Which is why I voted "yes." |
How does a statewide referendum destroy democracy exactly? |
It’s literally not a long term loss because it ends in 2030 when the process will go back to normal. |
|
Will the districts revert?
Or is NoVA split permanently? |
Until the 3030 census. |
I mean 2030, obviously! Not 104 years! Just 4
|
| This is stupid vote no! |
Well if Republicans don't like it, they are welcome to pass anti-gerrymandering legislation the next time the Democrats introduce such legislation in Congress. But they won't, because they love themselves some good voter suppression. |

No, it is the comment of someone who is obviously more informed and educated than you are. The ONLY reason Virginia is doing this is to counter what Texas and Florida are doing (without putting it to a vote, by the way), AT Trump's direction. Unless you can provide some cogent and well-found rationale as to why it is acceptable for Texas and Florida to do this but not Virginia, your opinion is just a waste of internet space. Heck, did you see what they did in North Carolina? How is THAT ok. The Dem leadership may be weak as water but trust that the rank and file Dems are out here ready to fight fire with fire. https://thencbeat.com/north-carolina-gerrymandering-map/ |
