To be clear I read the question but am undecided about my view on it.

Ordinarily, I would vote no. But as a former Republican who is utterly repulsed by MAGA, I voted yes. I sincerely feel the future of our country is legitimately at stake.

The GOP does not exist anymore. It's a choice between Tumperism and not.

So is this redistricting guaranteed to produce more Dem seats?

Almost certainly yes - until the 2030 census.

Yes, it is guaranteed to produce more Dem districts. As an independent, I also would be inclined to vote no. But not since Trump 2.0. I am sick of being the only side that abides by the rules.

Dems and everyone else are in this position because Republicans have played dirty forever and Dems do nothing but make strongly worded statements.

Trump insisted states to gerrymander for him - without a vote. And of course, threatened his own Republican Party politicians that wouldn’t go along. https://www.ksat.com/news/politics/2025/12/06/threats-pile-up-as-indiana-republicans-confront-pressure-from-trump-on-redistricting/

Vote no.

The ONLY reason to vote 'No' is if you think Trump is doing an amazing job with the country, economy, and is a moral/ethical stand up man surrounded by honest selfless advisors.

Otherwise, vote YES.

I don't vote early because it gives the county time to lose my vote.

Has that ever happened to anyone?

To me? No. I don't vote early.

Hopefully, the VA Supreme Court will step in after this election and rule it unconstitutional because it is.
Then you can thank Abbi for the colossal waste of taxpayer money.

The Virginia Supreme Court has ruled that the referendum election will proceed, staying the circuit court’s injunction that had temporarily blocked it.

The Court did not decide whether the amendment process was constitutional. Instead, it relied on a long-standing principle in Virginia law: courts generally do not use injunctions to stop elections before they happen. The reasoning goes back over a century — elections are considered a political process, and courts typically review their legality after the voters have acted, not before.

The Court cited precedent explaining that even if an election may ultimately be invalid, the judiciary should not prevent people from going to the polls. If the amendment is later adopted, courts can then determine whether the process complied with the Constitution and whether the result is valid.

Importantly, the Court emphasized that the underlying constitutional challenges are still very serious and remain pending. The stay only means the election will occur — not that the legal arguments against the process have been rejected.

In short:
• The election will go forward.
• The constitutional challenges are still alive.
• The courts may ultimately decide the validity after the vote occurs.
