Someone upthread says it’s cancelled. |
Is that for RVA or the Arlington Showcase? Not a lawyer but this is what the Arlington Showcase registration "agreement" says: I understand that if the event is cancelled for any reason at all, Teams will be issued a refund once all expenses are paid and that Arlington Soccer Association is not responsible for any expenses your team may have incurred. This includes application fees, hotel costs, travel expenses or any other expenses associated with the tournament. unsure what's let after Arlington "pays" off their expenses for a cancelled event. |
| Cancelled |
The above was for Richmond futsal |
|
Arlington Showcase is NOT canceled YET. They are making a call by EOD tomorrow.
College ID on Friday is ON. |
| Now it is canceled. College ID is still on. |
My kid has a game scheduled for Saturday 8am, with the real feel of 4 degrees. hard no. |
|
Tough one for RVA. This was the last chance for a few of their age groups to qualify for Nationals.
As a host club, I am sure they have a good shot at At-Large bids though. Probably tough for a number of smaller and “winter” regional futsal programs too who won’t have RVA’s pull to get an at-large bid for a local national tourney. |
I’m curious. How does that mindset help? I understand a snow storm as DMV folks forget physics and think that a 4x4 will help not help you stop so that is a safety issue. Cold is not a safety issue. There is so much modern technology to stay warm. I grew up in the north and we never thought about the weather. How is allowing an uncontrollable element such as the weather help your child deal with unpredictable circumstances they will inevitably face in the real world? I am genuinely curious. |
Psst. Any decent team can go to nationals, especially over u11. You do not actually have to qualify. All checks clear. |
Not sure why it's supposedly tougher for Futsal RVA than the other clubs also trying to qualify? RVA can't qualify because they aren't good enough. Huge org but only have a few competitive teams once they leave their city. |
You're genuinely full of fertilizer Talking about cold is not a safety issue for kids when temps are 4 degrees |
| The biggest issue no one is talking about is when do we actually get back on the field again? I feel like we are all about to be shut down for at least three weeks. Tryouts get messed up. Little practicing and March tourneys around the corner, let alone missed showcases. This is gonna suck |
My kid is 12. You are insane. I don’t care how you grew up, a 12 yr old doesn’t need to be playing an outdoor soccer game for any reason in 4 degrees. TWELVE. Have you lost all perspective? Are you ok? |
