Weekend weather

A shout to Arlington, if you are out there… can you just cancel the showcase already? 15 degrees and 2 feet of snow will not be considered safe conditions… teams are traveling for this. Can you just make it easy for folks with a bit of planning please?

Heard that the will assess weather and make a call EOD Thu

Not at Arlington, but no snow until Saturday night, so anything Saturday can still happen. And, there's no guarantee 2 feet is actually happening

they also haven't yet announced the colleges attending on the website - which makes me think they won't have it.

The high is 18 on Sat. I’m hoping our practice gets canceled. No one needs frostbite.

Futsal regional championships just shifted everything up one day to wrap up on Saturday. Let Arlington work on a solution.

The last prediction like this materialized into 2” of snow.

I 🙏 that is the softest statement I read this week.

If necessary,

Hat + Balaclava

Base layer + Body warmer + outer layer

Hand warmers + medical gloves + standard gloves

Base layer + outer layer pants

Toe warmers in the boots

We played outside by choice growing up in these conditions without any of this modern technology.

You didn't grow up in the era of helicopter and snowplow parents

These kids nowadays showup to college as Freshman and have zero independence or skills in taking care of themselves after 18 years of pampered babying

not posted, coming out soon showcase start Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Whoo, some assumptions being made here! This is OP. What I am sick of is last minute cancellations. We have already had 3 or 4 this winter. Agree, kids can play in nearly everything. That’s what they do in New England and Midwest.

I don't think they will cancel, especially since they prepared you with that showcase in Missouri lol

Good suggestions but if I tell my boy to wear these, he probably will say who are you kidding. Base layer shirt, gloves and uniforms, that’s it.

Practice was cancelled last night because of the low temperatures, which were much higher than the expected HIGH temperature on Saturday.

Since these are kids, I don’t see how they can avoid cancelling.

My kid actually has gotten frostbite on his toes from a scrimmage many years ago. I will never risk that again. It was very scary. This “showcase” is not much of a real showcase so to me it’s not worth the risk AT ALL.
