There was some girls team at my kids volleyball facility this afternoon. They have not been there other Tuesdays this club season

Our club had the main physical trainer run a virtual practice with the kids - better than nothing

Several ECNL clubs are supposed to be having tryouts as early as this Sunday. Can we assume those will be postponed? Haven’t heard anything. My child is registered, but we are from outside the club/no inside track. Hoping they send out messages to let people know what their new plan is.

No need to chime in telling me my kid isn’t going to make it if they don’t already have an offer. Well aware we are literally on the outside looking in with this stuff.

Yes, they cannot hold tryouts on icy turf and there are no indoor fields big enough to hold a tryout.

It seems like they should be communicating something soon as it is only going to get colder during the upcoming days.

Are the fields covered with the super hard ice I see everywhere? If yes fields won't open for another 10 days!?

Or is any team allowed to clear the turf? I thought last yeas Loundon was able to clear LSP main field.

Clearly you arent from DMV. LSP is private and cleared their fields already. I am estimating the monday after next week will be operational again.

It is going to be a brutal February. Even if the fields are cleared, temperatures are going to be in the teens or low 20s. See you in March.

Any turf field not privately owned CANNOT be plowed due to county rules. So LSP and VRSC can clear their fields but everyone else has to wait for the ice to melt, which honestly could be late February at this point.

Thanks for this information. Initially, I thought that turf fields couldn't be plowed because of the risk of tearing the turf. I saw the pictures of VRSC clearing their fields and thought, "Why doesn't everyone do that?" It makes total sense now with the county rule.

VRSC is pretty organized but for some reason there is no talent in there.

There are special tools needed to plow turf and the public fields don’t have them.
