Fake lashes, dragon nails, pushups… do men actually like this look?

Anonymous
I think some men (Bezos etc.) reach a point in their life where they just don’t want a challenge. They want a woman that they perceive to be feminine and docile. Whatever class markers you perceive on these features, they indicate an interest in being perceived as strongly feminine and hewing closely to “traditional” gender norms. It’s like the gender equivalent of a dog rolling on its back and showing you its belly: I’ll be a sexy baby for you and not give you problems. That’s why in subcultures with a lot of machismo these same things are popular. It’s all to make men more comfortable.

Eh, check the finstas and OF accounts of “upper class” men, you might be surprised.

+1
Over 90% of OF consumers are married men. They clearly like this look and are paying $$$ to support it.

Basically they see those women as objects like a doll.

How in the minority is he? One of the women with this look is a politician’s wife so I assume she could afford more natural looking procedures if she wanted to. Do women really just like it and do their husbands like it too?

Never heard any man say they like any of the bolded items, in fact it's always about how much they hate those things.

Now the pushup bras yeah men like perky boobs. The other things are just trashy.

All three are accomplished, privileged and wealthy women but they don't have style sense.

they also share something else in common.

There is a wide variety between plain and fake everything.

It's some what of a drag queen look, and there do seem to be some guys into that.

OP - I guess what I’m saying is outside of the boobs which I understand, the fake lashes and too much makeup to me just doesn’t look healthy or good. I do wear makeup and I’m sure partner would say I look better with some (the “no makeup look” which is actually still a decent amount of makeup when done well), if he were being honest. But if I showed up in a full face of foundation with baby doll lashes he would find it offputting and not sexy.

I have a hard time believing men actually like this and it’s not just women doing it for themselves and for other women.

I have a hard time figuring out why you care what other people look like. You already said it was not for you or your partner, but it still perplexes you about why other people do it or that they could find it attractive. Is it because deep down you're insecure and question your style choices?

Because I want to know if MEN actually like this look. So far only women have responded.

but WHY? You already said you don't like it. What does it matter what some of the men might like?

Men of course DO like an attractive face (which makeup improves) and perky boobs (which a pushup bra yields). The other stuff, YMMV.

But OP, what is there to discuss?? Yes, some men like it. Obviously. There is a ton if evidence to that effect. See mainstream porn. Or Lauren Bezos as a PP mentioned.

We understand that you and your husband don't like this look. You probably have completely different values to the people who spend their time and money to achieve the Mar a Lago look.

You want to project the image of someone who uses their time and money for things that are more 'important' than physical appearance (such as education and career).

Others want to project the image that they have endless time and money to spend on their appearance.

Both images are about status signaling it's just that you disagree about what high status is.

Wow, how racist of you. So you are basically saying that only rich white protestants look good without makeup and extras. OOF!

The fake lashes look horrible on 90% of women. It ends up looking like they have black fuzzy caterpillar on their eye. Super long fingernails creep me out too. Like nails on a chalkboard.

Heavy makeup just isn’t as attractive but doesn’t look horrible like the other two.

That isn’t what I was trying to say, as the person above me stated some people value different things. Wealthy east coasters like the muted restrained look and like to come off like they are all about their education and their job and aren’t interested in overly superficial things like big boobs and lashes. Any work people get done on their bodies and done in a minimal and conservative manner.
