Fake lashes, dragon nails, pushups… do men actually like this look?

Anonymous
I live in an area far from the DMV (moved away). The predominant look here is heavy fake lashes, full foundation, long manicures, and push-up bras. My partner hates the look. How in the minority is he? One of the women with this look is a politician’s wife so I assume she could afford more natural looking procedures if she wanted to. Do women really just like it and do their husbands like it too?

It's a lowerclass look that appeals to lowerclass men. Not that mysterious.

Sigh, is this really so hard for you to grasp? These women are dressing to the beauty standards of their subculture. Yes, the people in their subculture find it attractive.

No, most people on DCUM don't like the fake look and would consider it tacky. If you are looking for that validation you will find it here. Most people that dress the way you describe would think the minimal makeup DC look (the beauty standards of our subculture) to be ugly and frumpy.

People are different, yo. It's fine.

lowerclass? barf

just because it isn’t your look doesn’t make it “lowclass” (whatever you even mean by that)

op, I would guess the look (esp of the politician’s wife) is emulating the current look of a lot of women in politics and/or under the public eye (of their own right or via being a spouse of someone in the field). as examples, the trump wife and daughters

I understand the different subcultures but do the men actually find this look attractive (outside of the boobs). The full makeup and lashes… my partner thinks they look freakish.

My boyfriend says "if it's not for sale, why all the advertising?"

In some places it's the preferred look, especially among poorer to lower middle class people, and conservatives, strangely.

Your boyfriend is a moron.

My dh hates the look too, with the fake lashes and nails. He also says he dislikes makeup, but usually finds me more attractive with some makeup.

It's some what of a drag queen look, and there do seem to be some guys into that.

They say lowclass on DCUM to make themselves feel better about being fugly.

Signed,

Not someone who wears any of the things mentioned, but would never call another person lowclass because of something they wear.
