What is categories as “significant” here?. The Farms rate under new admissions is still very low only around 11%. Big majority TJ students is still from wealthy family. |
Just because a student does not qualify for free lunch does not make that child wealthy. Asians work and can put food on the table. Not everyone is wealthy. Plenty of working class Asians. |
This is clearly the exception. The population of kids that can only afford GMU but not UVA/VT and will not get aid at ivy+ is a small small population |
The purpose want necessarily less Asians, it was racial balancing and THAT meant get Asians than would otherwise get in. |
That's just factually untrue. Unless you are going back to when there weren't as many Asians around. Then sure, there was a time when TJ was majority white just 10-15 years ago. But compared to recent years the tend line was heading up and the population dropped after the new system was used. |
It's funny how the news didn't cover how 30% of the students purchased the entrance exams. Is it possible you're just another racist that likes to imply that model minorities are successful because they cheat? |
It was 25% farm for the class of 2025. |
Yes, but then it dropped to 10% because so many of the FARM kids got really bad grades and went back to their base schools much worse off than if they had never attended at all. |
I don't think that was it, but more that wealthy families began to figure out how to rig admissions again. |
Same thing just because a student qualified for farms and get into TJ doesn’t mean that kid is dumb and just a handout admission. That is what most poster try to say here, portraying that smart poor kids doesn’t exist. |
Cite, proof? |
Wait, you know that a large number of FARM kids went back to their base school after freshman year but you want proof that they did so because of their bad grades? Are you stupid? |
#backdoorKaren is back at it |
DP. There are a lot of reasons why someone may choose to leave TJ. You are fabricating the narrative around the grades and the students being “worse off”. |
Except they added seats. It wasn’t zero sum. |
